Great stuff. Didn't seem like you bought anything too extra. My only advice would be to look at brands beyond Kathmandu. I've never been a fan of they're stuff honestly. They're overpriced for what they are in my opinion but obviously having lots of stores is convenient when shopping. I'd suggest looking at speciality hiking brands like One Planet, Wilderness wear, Big Agnes and Exped. And speciality hiking stores like Bogong equipment and Paddy Palin. Outdoor gear lab is a great website for finding out the best gear. A lot of overseas brands are quite accessible to us surprisingly. Look forward to the Overland track videos, it's on my bucket list :)

Thanks so much for the advice Tony! We are heading down to Melbourne in the next few weeks to check out Bogong! We have also heard great things about One Planet since they're made in Melbourne! We will definitely be looking into all these as we upgrade to lighter equipment. Thanks again!

@@AdventuresofKatelyn Yeah definitely! My One Planet Camp Lite -10c sleeping bag has been awesome. I've had it for almost 10 years now and it still looks like day 1. There are definitely perks to being made in Melbourne like easy repair service. I had the down refilled 2 years ago for only $140 and they really put a lot in to the point I just fits back into the stuff sack haha. Better than buying a new bag when the down escapes or loses loft overtime :)

Every single hike brings a new lesson and something to adjust for the next one! So much fun figuring it all out 🏕

It’s such a learning curve and I’m sure we’ll always be changing and upgrading gear. More so, it’s just important that we get out there and hike 🙌🏼

Hi Katelyn love your videos great info as we plan ahead. Noticed your sleeping bags look very compact. Could you please let me know the brand and perhaps store you purchased? Many thanks.

Thanks so much Fleur, the sleeping bags are from Kathmandu. I would recommend any lightweight down sleeping back that is correctly rated to the temperatures you will be camping in.

Anything you didn’t need or wish you took? Other than Mars bars 😀

Not really, we were comfortable with what we had and there's nothing we can really think of that we wish we had. The only real suggestion we would have is to buy gear that is as light as possible eg. backpack, sleeping gear and clothing. More chocolate would have been great though 😂
