We love the Blue Ridge Parkway and usually go every year in October when the leaves are changing. We were in one of the Welcome Centers near Waynesville, NC and a huge SUV type vehicle as in the parking lot. It was the biggest thing I have ever seen. I was the size of a large garbage truck with giant tires, windows, ladder and looked amazing (and expensive) this Safari Extreme is the closest vehicle to what we saw. Strange the one in the parking lot didn't have a name on it. I think the grill had a Mercedes emblem. One of these would be so much fun for cross country trips and off-road camping. I'm sure they cost more than my house, so owning one is just a dream.

More than you'd expect? I'd buy a set of skateboard wheels and trucks from eBay ($6) - spend $1 on some scrap metal to build a chassis and the first final dollar on some sort of scrap wood to build a box from. Sleep in that. 👍

That Truck carries over 1 Ton of Diesel Fuel Full. Wow ! Full --- 280 gallons x 7.25lbs/ gallon for diesel = 2,030 Lbs of diesel fuel. I Like the Fact that u can Drive Almost All the way from the West coast to the East coast without Ever hitting a Gas station though.

If selling my house and cars would allow me to own one of the pangea lift roofs I would. had the chance to see the orange gobi and I wouldn't miss a house or a truck. the only problem is it would sit next to my shop 300 days a year and my fellow biz park tenant would think I'm homeless, nutz, and probably avoid contact until the came inside. Walked through the orange unimog named gobi and it was perfect. I going to need a lot more oil changes and smog checks to pay for that. By the way I'm running a special on oil change its only $250000.00 for the ultra premium oil and lube from solid platinum cans to your vehicle, this is to the first 3 responders.

Plus, many countries ban large or even, 'any' trucks in their national parks (South Africa comes to mind, lol). 4x4 suvs (Jeeps/Land Rovers/Toyota troopys etc.), are admitted as 'cars' in these cases. Check where you can travel before commiting to such a huge, unwieldy, expensive investment.......ps..... think digging an Army truck out of the mud or sand by yourself is fun? (been there, done that)!
