You need to add a folding bow saw to your kit. I carry one in my rig and I don't even drive in the swamps. That tree could have been your firewood.
@OverlandFlorida Жыл бұрын
That’s a good idea.

A cold front went thru there when I was camping a huge pine tree fell across the fire road a spent a couple of hours cutting it up with a small hand saw to get my way out of the forest that said it was a wonderful night in the swamp my favorite place to be!
@OverlandFlorida8 ай бұрын
I love that site. Ron and I camped through a tornado. The weather was fine and calm. Then someone got a weather alert and sure enough the severe storm must have missed us by a 1/4 mile. Luckily it only lasted a few minutes. But that’s still my go to place to camp. Especially with the owls.

Seriously you don’t have a folding saw or hatchet to cut tree fall out of the way. Make a Lowes or Home Depot run and get one or both and throw them in the recovery box. Oh and really neat camp site. Damn mosquitoes always ruin a good time.

I camped there in early Feb. of this year and it was awesome except for the terrible wind storm one night I was expecting to knock a tree over on me, lol. Had the campground all to myself for three nights and two days. I put my kayak in there and there are trees across the river in both directions not far away. I had another reservation to go back in late March and then COVID caused the shutdown. I'll be back sometime this fall/winter/spring but no summer camping for me, I worked out in the Florida bugs and heat for 30 years, don't need that nonsense when I'm camping, lol.

Do not buy the version I have. The 12v socket is not regulated. So you won't get a constant 12v for the life of the battery. Meaning your device will shut off at like 60% battery because the power will drop below 12v. They corrected this problem and have a regulated plug. Now you will get a constant 12v all the way until the battery hits 0.
