About 1979 when I was in the army i was in a group that walked from Daintree to Cooktown. In those days there was no road to cape tribulation and just a hippie commune living there lol. The road now was just a walking track that was so unused it would disappear and we had to use map and compass sometimes. I might have to get up there again eventually as it still looks so beautiful. Cheers!

Thats an awesome story! sounds like an adventure as well. As for the Hippies there are still a few around haha

many thanks to your excellent trip video, there are lots of crossing creeks during the road trip. is that really need a 4WD vehicle to follow your route to enjoy that area!?

I must admit we are very lucky here in Australia, we have some spectacular scenery and places all in our backyard. These places you are at now look fantastic. The furthest north I have travelled is Yeppoon, but one day I'll get there as the Daintree is on my bucket list. What time of year did you go up there as I was in Gladstone for a few months over summer and it was stinking hot....

We were there for August the weather was beautiful. Nice and cool at night great for camping.

Your dash cam gives you away as yet another driver who does not understand double white lines. It is the cassowary dad who raises the chicks.
@banknote5013 жыл бұрын
Your comment gives you away as a nitpicking prick who must be a lot of fun at parties.
@OverlandTravellers2 жыл бұрын
Yeah mate if you look at the bottom left corner at 7:56 you’ll see I corrected the Mum comment, you just need to look at little harder. Also GoPros have software called hypersmooth and auto horizon leveling, so it looks like the car drifts all over the place but it’s not.
@NQwater3 жыл бұрын
sorry you just lost me as a subscriber you need to get your facts correct... If you are representing Australia for the world to see.... Cassowary males raise the chicks... so it would of been dad you saw..... just a simple mistake but to a lot of people facts need to be confirmed before teaching the world about them
@OverlandTravellers3 жыл бұрын
Yeah so if you look at the bottom left of the screen at exactly 7:56 on the video you’ll see I corrected that. So you can resub 👍🏽 crisis averted.
