new exhaust ask the right people it may have a turbo attached. believe me you will never regret the mod. I'm not talking a drag racing mod, just a 10 psi boost and it will have the bonus speed and the added fuel economy.

How bloody Aussie is it to 'tie it up with wire just to keep the show on the road'! Credit to JW. It certainly is good to have mates with skills like Adrian when you are way out west!

Fencing wire and cable ties are a great friend when out on the road. I'm glad my sub-tank works fine in my 80 series and I do not have to pump from one tank to the other like that.

Fencing wire is universal. We also carry a packet of steel cable ties aka zip ties. Lots of hardware places sell them, even Bunnings now. (Overland bikers have been using them for years -thats where I first saw them).

This is the first time I have ever seen anyone bring a Bandit Tool with them whilst touring. I thought cable ties (S.S. or Nylon) would have been sufficed. Yes they do use them to run conduit up and down street poles, check them out, they also have threaded brackets for attaching stuff to like traffic lights, signs, etc...
@OverlandTravellers
@OverlandTravellers 3 жыл бұрын
Adrian’s made custom clamps and all sorts out bush with it he reckons. But yeah cable ties are a must….. we used a few this trip :)

Hey guys, we've been preparing our HJ47 troopy to do the Long Drive for Drought this year with another 45ish other 40series. This year its starting in Goondiwindi and finishing in Birdsville 8 days later. I'm wondering what you used for bug screens on your troopy.

I get jealous when I hear you mention crossing the Simpson, we did it 4 weeks ago and had a blast. We did it ourselves in a Dmax, which we wouldn't do again, we didn't have any problems, but we heard a lot of stories in Mr Dare of damage and bush fixes people had to do. You've probably done it already, if not watch out for the woops on the dunes caused by everyone doing it with trailers.
