could you do a video explaining all the different ways to load and unload these roll offs? for example in this video was the truck in neutral when loading the roll off? should the truck always be in neutral or always in park when loading/unloading roll offs? how do you unload/load roll off on an incline so the roll off doesn't roll down the hill or driveway or something? love your videos man and hope to have my setup soon!

I’ve been on a dumpster video binge so I can’t remember if you have the Ryobi grease gun. If so I recommend the 1 gallon compressor. While slow it would’ve topped that tire so you could get rolling sooner.

No, but for all my trailers. Any insurance company that tries to insure you for each dumpster is clueless or screwing you. Because they will never pay you for a claim because of damage to a dumpster. Something that is bound to be abused

Totally off topic but I had a dumpster catch on fire. We picked it up at a riverside company that rebuilt docks and wharfs. The speculation is that while they were takin apart some of the bolts with an acetylene torch, a spark contacted the wood and a fire started. My driver, rather than phoning me pulled off the freeway and parked on a dead end street where he proceeded to dump the load half on the street and half in the bush. By the time I got home the superintendent of public works was on the line saying that I had 24 hr. to clean up the mess or they would charge me $2500. After a lot of yes sir!, right away sir! I was back there first thing in the morning loading the burnt pieces onto a small delivery trailer, then to the dump to get rid of it. I asked my driver why he didn't immediately drive to a Fire Station and he said he thought it was more important to dump the load in order to stop the fire. Needless to say we parted company shortly thereafter.

I can totally feel that. All I do is roofing and I have my own trailers (3 of them) and it's not hard to overload a trailer with shingles. I've had every imaginable issue, wheels brake off, axles brake, leaf springs brake, trailer brake off the truck and so on.

Just my opinion.... I would suggest buying a Hooklift truck. Much easier to maneuver. That is why the bigger dumpsters use 1 big door instead of 2 smaller, cheaper made doors. Sometimes it is better to say "NO" than to get it and damage your equipment...EX: bent axle due to overweight, blown out tire... Get to know a good welder for things like this. Does it make sense to drive farther overloaded to save a few bucks????
@rollingops3 жыл бұрын
I mean you're not wrong! Learned a lot from this one.

@@rollingops we have 7 KW hooklift trucks that we use for builders. Just easier to deal with in tight spots. If anyone wants a dumpster for concrete, I immediately tell them not interested. What do you do when a customer severely overloads it weight wise? Refuse to pick it up and charge them an Unacceptable load fee? I would imagine beside the DOT overweight issue when driving, that excessive weight would really tear up equipment…which obviously isn’t sustainable for business…I’d imagine that’s an ongoing struggle in the dumpster business…
@rollingops3 жыл бұрын
It really can tear stuff up, I avoid anyone who utters the word concrete. And I'm always hesitant with roofers, you really need to know how many sq the roof will be and calculate the weight. Otherwise you will be out of this business quick, this ordeal was an oversight on my part. It won't happen again.
