CRUNCHY METAPOD I was at Gamestop the other day and this woman came in with 3 boys who were all under 8 and let them buy Grand Theft Auto V. I played M rated games as a child, granted the graphics weren't as real and GTA was just starting, but parents buying M rated games like GTA for their kids is nothing new. So if kids are playing games where you can have sex with hookers, what is so bad about a slave Leia toy lol.

The Leia figure has more than a bikini on. She even has a type of skirt/wrap on too. Kids are being protected from life and not learning to deal with life. My parents were overprotective, and I was not prepared. I finally got the experience once I got to college and had more freedom to me myself. Because of personal experience, this stuff drives me nuts. I know how screwed up those kids will be from personal experience. I mean parents wanted to protect their kids from Tomodachi Life because Miis could have relationships end - breakups and divorces, and their child was upset by it. (Actual comments from Amazon reviews.) Yes, breakups can be upsetting, but we have to learn to deal with the ups and downs of life. If you're protected from all of the bad stuff, you never learn how to handle it. The protective bubble hurts the child in the long run. This is right up there with participation awards or banning dodge ball. If you want to be offended, focus on things that might be truly out of line, not something you might see at a public beach or water park.

I was allowed to see R rated movies. I saw Alien when I was 10. ...and even ate spaghetti after the movie. I saw Excalibur in the theater when it came out. I guess they weren't as bad as many modern parents, but they seemed excessively protective by 80s standards (for high school and college). I'm a parent and I don't find this in the least offensive. My kids are 8 (going to be 9 next week), 5, and 1. I have no idea what is up with this new generation of parents these days. I have noticed A LOT of them (a few in which I had to remove from my life) are just OVERLY critical about every single damn thing that does not fit into their category of 'right.' They over-complicate everything, seriously, when in actuality, it's simple. If you don't want your kids to be exposed to item, like so, then don't buy it for them! Not every parent harnesses the same mindset, nor do they have to, so stop trying to force them with this kind of nonsense. Everyone parents differently according to their children's needs.They are twisting what is supposed to be good and innocent by branding it as something sexual, and that is what they are inadvertently teaching their children: shame of the human body. Also, they don't even realize that by taking her off the shelf that that in itself would be considered sexist... so in other words, these parents are sexists in saying that a female figure is not allowed on a shelf because of some body exposure... My parents let me play Mortal Kombat when I was 4, they let me watch the movies when I was 8, they let me play Onimusha when I was 10, my dad called me in to beat parts in the God of War games & bought me God of War when I was 13. Even though I was allowed to do these things, they had the decency to do their jobs & tell me they weren't real & would not work in the real world. Now we have soccer parents buying these kids all these things that all of these games and rather than doing their jobs parenting, they complain that the games like Smash Bros. is too violent. (Yes that actually did happen while I was at a store) When their kid gets in trouble at school, rather than punishing the kid, they blame it on the school. These parents are going to be the death of all humans some day.

I watched Return of the Jedi as a kid. All the parents in my generation did not give a damn. Hell they were fans too. Every store that carries it must be strong and say no to those customers. Kaiser499 It's not the confederate flag; rather, it's the confederate *battle* flag. The difference is very important. the real confederate flag is one horizontal red stripe, one horizontal white stripe, then another horizontal red stripe, with a blue segment in the upper left corner with the stars in a circular pattern, numbered after the confederate states. It looked very close to The United States first flag. The confederate /battle flag/ is a red flag with a blue X slashed over it filled with the confederate stars, which is commonly and, mistakenly, referred to as the confederate flag. It's disconcerting.

I'm getting pissed just by reading what they're saying about a freaking action figure! It's OK to see people getting murdered with guts flying all over the place (in terms of games and/or movies. I remember back in the day when people like this (the ones complaining about the figure) were illustrated in the negative stereotype that they were/are appropriately justified as. Remember? They were usually the single, very unattractive, and VERY miserable females who only got happy meddling in other peoples affairs ruining shit and not minding their own business. I agree with Alpha, if you don't like it, ignore it and MOVE ON! Don't make it your life's mission to ruin everyone else's fun. There was some cranky female who attempted this garbage with the series Married With Children (awesome series that I grew up on), and every actor and crew member of the show simply responded, "Lady, change the channel!". They even tried with a Marx Brothers movie back in the day (Duck Soup) the people of Fredonia New York discovered that the main town (Freedonia) in the movie was too similar to their own town name and they wrote the Marx Brothers asking them to change the name of the town in their movie because it was "ruining their town". In classic Marx Brothers fashion, they responded with a letter saying, "Please change the name of your town, you're ruining our PICTURE!". Classic. Since when did this consistent bitching about everything become rewarded, while the peacemakers are punished?! It is time to start coddling these pussies, and it's time they learn to grow the fuck up! When I'm a mom, if my son/daughter asks me if they can buy a "suggestive" action figure like that princess leia, I'd just be like "Sure Jimmy! (its not like you even understand what "sexy" means yet anyways)" I don't think kids should be sheltered from the world. If they are, they're gonna have one hell of a surprise when they move out, they wouldn't survive without being mugged for 5 seconds. Kids need to learn bad stuff so they AVOID IT! That's why you tell your kids not to go with strangers, or play with unknown objects, or eat whatever the hell you find on the ground. The world isn't going to survive if parents don't teach what they need to teach to kids, and sex, violence, drugs, and criminals are things you need to teach your kids so they don't make bad decisions at a young age. Video games and movies aren't real anyways, and parents shouldn't give their kids any video game they want if they don't want them to learn about freaking rape at the age of 7.

I was a child when these movies 4-6 first aired. When they released them again I took my kids. I spent A LOT OF TIME being involved with what my kids did and watched. When they reached an age when I thought it was ok we talked about it. The parents who are so busy trying to control the world do it because they really (if they looked into their hearts and were honest at least with themselves) don't want to PARENT their kids. If you want to piss me off tell me "YOU'RE SO LUCKY YOU HAVE GOOD KIDS" It wasn't luck DO NOT offend me. My mom and dad turned me on to sci-fi when I was little, they were both Trekkies. I saw and fell in love with the Star Wars series as well, and I asked mom when all this hoopla came out, "Mom, do you think they should pull the Leia in the bikini outfit off the shelves?" She gave me a funny look and said, "Well, it's not that I like the outfit that much, but she was forced to wear that outfit by Jabba the Hutt, and she ended up killing him.
