I spend about 5 minutes a day in each group liking comments, sharing a quick pic or replying to comments-and so far thats gotten the most results for me. Im sorry to hear she didnt love ya back, I know the feels. And yes, that is one of the ballsiest things someone can do is express that love. Ive only told 4 girls I loved them, 3 I dated, and 1 was shot down like a bird in front of a cannon. I broke down a bit, but I got back up and put the pieces back together. And you will too. He works out to the point of zero testosterone left, and has nothing in his stomach to use when he's trying to bulk. You eat slightly above your BMR when bulking not under to the point you eat like a petite five year old girl. Tbh developing a decent body isn't THAT hard; the issue is most people don't know what they're doing or how their body works chemically. eating less is something you do when you're trying to cut fat while retaining as much of your muscle as you can, and very few people can manage to develop muscle while losing fat or vice versa. 80% of how you look is your diet and 20% is your exercise. sort of hard to own up to the 80% for most people; hence why most people look like a misshapen jenga tower of muscle and fat.

Statistics would show that skinny more endowed woman are generally (usually the majority) are preferred to more realistic looking woman. I know I'll never be as cute as someone like Yuffie Kisaragi or as attractive as Jill Valentine. That's just how it is, I can't just go and demand that those characters suddenly be made to look like me with broader shoulders, larger breasts, etc..and I wouldn't want them to. I mean, if that's a male power fantasy (I don't consider myself male, so I don't know), then what's a female power fantasy? I mean, I usually fantasize about being as attractive and awesome as the ladies in video games. I don't negatively compare myself to them nor do I think its likely..but would that be a female power fantasy? Alternatively they'll say that females are only attractive and fit so they can be 'fan service' for the male gamers, which I suppose some could be seen as that, but I've also seen many female fans fawning over the likes of Dante (particularly shirtless), Link from the Legend of Zelda, Cloud Strife, Vergil from Devil May Cry, Sora & Riku from Kingdom Hearts, and several other characters from games and anime that fit the 'pretty boy' model. The only thing I hate more then them trying to make everything 'comfortable' for them is the hypocrisy of it all. I think its a person's own choice whether they are happy with their size or not, so long as they are healthy. As a boy, none of the male video-game characters look 'realistic' either. I mean, come on, no one is as buff as cloud or link, or looks as handsome as sora. I've always noticed this and thought, "Well, there's some thing for me to shoot at, a goal to follow. An example of what I could become if I work to improve myself. Druidtton Darksun I'm on Link's level. I don't consider myself all that buff... I mean, I'm buff for my body stature, but not hulk-mode buff (just really fit I guess). Then again, I actually did a share of HEMA, though I primarily boxed back in the day..... Personally I don't think it really does matter. If you want to you can try for a body like that, but personally I took part of these sports because I loved doing said sports themselves. I generally play females or exotic races in games where I have the choice (and if there's no obvious gameplay-ish differences), because I generally like playing something I'm not. I'm certainly not complaining at Jojo's Bizarre Adventure for being full of ridiculously buff dudes that realistically nobody should reach (Wham has a fucking 10-pack, like, holy shit), and it fits the characters anyway, so more power to them.... I mean fuck, there are plenty of non-comedic relief obese characters in video games acting as commoners or something, but they're fucking commoners, they don't swing swords and don't run on the battlefield all day like some Fire Emblem heroes do, and that's how it should be. In most games it's heavily implied (Fire Emblem certainly) that they trained for that stuff. Moreover, really the biggest worry I have with these type of complaints is that they can often contradict the writer's vision.

If any one of these characters constantly ate in their respective game worlds like some crazy candy crush except the mouth is the void the candies disappear into, than no, it still wouldnt make sense. I am something like 50-80 pounds overweight right now, depending on what source you go to for ideal weight statistics. When I play a video game, I don't pick the fat guy. I pick the muscly badass, or the agile fighter, or the buxom babe, because these characters are not a representation of me. They are something to look at, and I don't want to look at a fat guy. Even when I am able to create a character which represents myself, I will still make a good-looking, athletic dude because that is what I want to be. But y'know what? I'd be lying if I said that these athletic heroes had no effect on me. They've had a profound effect on me. I recently made a commitment to change my diet and to exercise as much as I can so that I can be like the heroes who inspire me. I use them as my mental focus to get in shape, and y'know what? It's working. So thank you games industry, thank you comic book writers, thank you for giving me the inspiration I needed to motivate myself.

Interesting take, which I am sure 50% of gamers think, as well, since it is also 'escapism'. Personally, I don't play games to be somebody else, I play games to play games. I am skinny and don't like that fact much, however, it doesn't matter to me. When I make a character it's always 'myself' (skinny, white guy), or as you said, a girl because girls are nice to look at for straight men. Simple biology. In any case, none of it really matters, and overweight is relative. In some parts of America, you are not overweight, in other parts you are really overweight, in some parts of Japan you are not overweight, in some parts of the world, you have the perfect body. It's relative. The only thing that matters is that you're healthy and happy with yourself, beyond that, the size of your body is mostly meaningless. This fact is noted by seeing just how many happy, healthy fat people there are in the world and just how many millions of unhappy, unhealthy skinny people there are. You can also find millions of perfectly happy and healthy skinny people, too. Just because you're fat or skinny, that doesn't innately say anything about your health or mind. It's just relative to given cultures and individuals who see one or the other as being a sign of unhealthiness or unattractiveness. And, of course, the latter is nonsense, anyway since attractiveness is also relative to person and culture. Many cultures love fat people. And the contrary, too. Of course, right now, beauty seems to be really skinny girls with big breasts and arses. American beauty has always been along these lines, though in the 1940s and 1950s, the perfect woman was chubby by today's standards. It's clear why these changes occur and it was somewhat hinted at by the poor/King comment. It's easy to see why we love really skinny people in this day and age, and, for the most part, it has nothing to do with health or beauty, shockingly. Personally, I try not to judge anybody in this way and I am also attracted to every type of woman, so none of it means much to me. Oh, and if you are still exercising and need any help, I may be able to give you some suggestions because I have looked into diet and exercise quite a bit over the years, of course, I'm no expert. And, just on a related note, my kind of 'idol', as it were, for both body and mind has always been the one and only Bruce Lee. He's tiny, but perfection and used this to his advantage. By the way, if you're fat, you may be able to use this to your advantage because this implies, you can still remain 'big', with just more muscle, rather than fat. In this way, you should look up to somebody like Arnold. There are also many KZbin channels to help you, and, interestingly, it has nothing to do with your weight, rather, what you are made up of. For example, let's say you are 250 pounds. Is that bad, is it overweight? No. It's only bad/overweight if you have 250 pounds of fat on your body. However, if you have, say, 12% body fat and the rest is just lean muscle, well, then you're a 250-pound monster and may be very healthy, too. Weight is relative to what kind of weight it is. Fat weight, muscle weight, water weight. Many things make up your weight.

That was talking about how a lot of guys don't measure up to the video game characters that we play, IE Duke Nukem, etc. They definitely didn't use my body for motion capture either. It's sad that people who work with bulimics would go out of their way to blame media for their situation. The whole thing behind recovery isn't to give those who suffer a scapegoat but rather encourage them to create a healthy mindset where they do not look down on themselves for their body image. What's fascinating is there are many people with anorexia or bulimia who actually got the disorder as a means of control. These sufferers usually have anxiety and feel out of control. By controlling their bodies, they feel less anxious, but then the cycle of self loathing starts because they know what they're doing is wrong and they feel out of control etc. I didn't gender bulimia because men can also be affected. It's sad because when men with bulimia and anorexia seek treatment, they are often handed pamphlets which only address women. As if men can't suffer from eating disorders. It is utterly disgusting that a bulimia website would create this as if media portrayals of women are the only reason women suffer eating disorders. They should know better.

In the first place, a large portion of video game characters, especially ones like Final Fantasy, have likely been training more or less their whole lives. Fit women are (typically) more attractive to males for *biological, evolutionary* reasons; a sloppy fat woman doesn't take care of herself, which sends a signal to potential mates that *she probably wouldn't produce or take care of good offspring*, so she is ignored as a potential mate. B DeWit To be fair though, i can also see how many seems to have a bit of an unreasonable on what's fat and what's not. For example, Jennifer Lawrence and Demi Lovato, many thinks they're ugly fat, while i see them as hot and not actually fat. Anyway, i don't like skinny bone people as much as i don't like people that are too fat. Unless it's on your DNA to be skinny bone, it's not good to be skinny bone.

B DeWit No, i don't think being fat is ok, it's not healthy. I'm guessing that you're a product of "if it's not skinny bone, it's fat" brainwashing. There's a good measurement for average (not physically large or small) people what's fat, what's too skinny, what's ideal, and what's fine. For woman, you go substract 110 kg from their height in cm for ideal body weight For men substract 100 kg. Anything from -10 to +10 from ideal are fine. Professional models and many actress are expected to be -15 to -20 by their agency (i know some local professional models), hence where many of them are skinny bone as you like it, but unhealthy. You're too focus on seeing unhealthy obese people that you ignored, and maybe even celebrated unhealthy skinny people. Both are as bad.

AtriasNaradan I think we're having a sort of language misunderstanding- when I say "fat", I'm speaking of people who are considered "overweight" for their height and body fat percentage. Obviously there is such a thing as "too skinny". Here, let me give you an example of an extremely fit woman: www.alegoo.com/pictures6/sports/miesha-tate-hot/ That's Miesha Tate, a female UFC fighter who fights at 135 pounds, but without the weight cut, she's probably around 150 pounds. Now, she's on the extreme end of what I'd call "fit". On the other end of the scale, you have people from "My 600 lbs. Life". Of course, if you took Miesha and sucked 40 pounds away from her, she'd be an emaciated mess. I like fitness girls; feminine but strong and shapely. I don't like sloppy girls, and I even think most supermodels you see on rag mags and perfume commercials and shit look ill. Not surprising, considering a lot of them are taking stuff like cocaine and Adderall to suppress their appetite. You hold that pic of Tate up next to 90% of the "supermodels" and I'd say Tate is prettier and more attractive in general almost every time. Closer to understanding what I mean?

It's easier to blame a fictional character than to face yourself in the mirror and say, "I don't like how I look, I'm going to change for myself." Immediate gratification is what so many want and demand, and it's only increasing the pathetic superiority complex the average person seems to cling to. You know what else isn't realistic? I'm overweight, always have been since childhood. I never felt bad about myself and I used to play with Barbie dolls and I loved playing FFX-2. To me, Barbies and playing video game characters are a way to escape into a world of fantasy. A lot of fat women who have a good self-esteem really don't care how the media and entertainment industry portray women. It's fucking stupid. Thank you, AlphaOmegaSin, for calling this bullshit out. There is probably room enough in gaming for characters of every body type, gender, sexuality persuasion and overall representation, and as long as an audience can get their want across to the creators...hopefully they will get created. I feel like everyone agrees, on all sides of these debates, that everyone should be catered to in some way, all stories and characters matter...but that the discourse breaks down when we start dissecting specific issues or peoples feelings about topics, or when one side starts expounding that the other has / lacks representation. We get passionate and start arguing from extremes. And there is a big difference between saying 'Everything has to be this' to saying 'Some of these things SHOULD be this'
