Great video Anna. A helpful tip for you for backpacking is sleep gear. A hike in like that will naturally dampen your clothes from exertion, no matter how easy you hike. That bit of moisture can lead to chilly, uncomfortable nights. Switching into bone dry sleep attire can make the world of difference! Also, having them gives you protection should you fall in a creek getting water or whatever. Dry clothes and sleeping bag is one of the greatest insurance policies in the out-of-doors! Hey Anna. A couple of hints to get your van further into the back country. I have 2wd Sprinter, so similar problems. On slippery but not too deep mud, I've found snow chains can make a huge difference for traction. Also in a front wheel drive vehicle, if you ever find yourself unable to get back up the hill you went down, try reversing up the hill. Sometimes with the weight on the drive wheels on the downhill side of the van, you'll get enough traction to make it up. Obviously, these hints are also just a way to get stuck worse and further away from assistance! ;-)

I consider myself rather adventurous, but I'm not at all sure I could have handled that. I have loved watching all of your adventures, but especially those right here in my back yard (BC/AB). Anna, thnx for sharing. You are gutsy, saw you do the climb on snowshoes already. Couple things: animals are not "angry" unless attacked. The are curious, but the fire most likely would keep them well away. Your hatchet would protect you from anything regardless. Yes, a tarp or durable survival mylar blanket over you would keep you totally dry. I learned this the hard way. Keep it up, get your 4wd. You're awesome, girl.

Yay! You met Foresty Forest! Cool. I love it. I have about 5/6 youtubers that I watch all the time. You are my #1 Anna. Foresty Forest right up there too. Now you need to find Chrome from Van City Van Life and Emi from Cat Van Lady. Chrome can give you tips on his favourite beer and Emi, is one sweet Lady. They hang out on Vancouver Island. I love how you are integrating yourself into our Canadian culture. You are even using the metric system. We have phenomenal Nature that we can enjoy. I love it. The trees, the animals. In ON there are so many lakes, rivers, ponds. I love all our Wildlife. I love how you now are planning for your sail boat and now your 4 wheeler.😊 Maybe you should work as a Naturalist in one of our parks. Or work with the Ministry of Natural Resources. Great video Anna, brought memories back from my childhood years, spending 1 to 2 months during summer breaks helping care for my grandparents flock of sheep at the summer campsite in mountains. You are totally right about the pine wood being soft and how it burns fast. I've experienced that myself, oak and cedar was our choice wood, but every now and then we did used pine. I believe, I also viewed the particular tiny cabin being constructed before. Thank you for sharing your experience and as usual, stay safe.

Such a nice little adventure ! I spent a few year on a mountain with a similar road no one wanted to use :D But the trees weren't that beautiful, all that yellow... A waterproof roof would certainly have made it more enjoyable. But if you want to stay warm all night long wood stoves require attention.

I'm surprised that they didn't have a locking system on the door or have at least some would already shop for the next person they do a lot of them in Alaska and they do come in handy in the backcountry.
