Overnight in a Former Finnish PRISON 🚨 Room Tour Vocab

Join me on room tour of the former prison turned hotel in Katajanokka, Helsinki!
Hotel Katajanokka operated as a county prison until 2002, when the prisoners were transferred to their current location in Vantaa. Thought was given to how the building should be used and in 2006 renovations began to turn the building into a hotel.
Hotel Katajanokka opened in 2007 and has operated as a hotel since then. You can still see remnants of its past life throughout the architecture. The building is surrounded by a big red brick wall. The hallways have their original shape and give off a jail-vibe. You can still visit an old isolation cell and group cell down in the basement!

To me the Finnish language sounds so very cool this is a great language to be bilingual with i believe it seems like a very deep way to express yourself i hope to learn it someday but I'm working on learning the top most spoken languages first i got Spanish at a B2 is say going to start Mandarin in 2 or 3 months Thank you for the videos!!

Wow....at 5:45 you mentioned "punainen muuri" and said muuri is wall....earlier you said seinä....and I typed in muura by mistake into a translator and it came up as masonary.....so I was thinking red brick wall....then I typed in muuri and it came up as wall with seinä also meaning wall. I think it’s just referring to the light, let’s turn on the light

"Päälle" means literally onto (something), over (something from elsewhere), and "päällä" means on, on top of, over. These are words that are used when referring to turning something on (päälle) or something being on (päällä). Tietokoneessani on virta päällä (The power is on in my computer) Laita/pistä/pane TV päälle! (Turn the TV on!) etc.

@@khoavo5758 There is a related term, "pois päältä" (literally "away from the top"), for example "Ota pallo pois laatikon päältä" (Take the ball away from the top of the box), which is used for referring to turning off or a device being turned off. Laita valot pois päältä (Turn off the lights), Onko sinun puhelin pois päältä? (Is your phone (turned) off?)
