What an interesting mixture. You with a lovely Canadian accent, somewhere in Canada in a leaky old cabin. With a roll of Alcan on the shelf which looks of English origin and a bottle of South Australian, Banrock Station wine also on the shelf. Is this how all abandoned cabins are left because if so I'm on my way.

So kind and good of you to fix the roof, if another hiker comes along just as you were wet through from the rain, at the very least he can get himself warm without being dripped on from the leaky roof, I just love seeing those log burners lit up and warming the cabins and yourself 👍🥰

This is awesome! Reminds me of a cabin we discovered while hiking/canoeing up north in Saskatchewan when I was young. It was dumping rain and we were SO thrilled to have found shelter, only to discover the roof was basically a sieve. 😂 But we put our garbage bag rain suits on and fixed up the place as much as possible, and put on a fire. It was warmer than outside and we were young and healthy enough that everything was a fun adventure! :)

I love watching your channel, one of the things I enjoy is it's not all about killing the wildlife, it's not all about building your own homestead and 'sweat equity' - it feels like Canadian you tube wilderness is about something else - the wilderness and not about boys toys and so on. Also - as a Brit (whose family nearly emigrated to Canada, and whose cousins and aunt and uncle did) I love that there's all these British English phrases that turn up. Crappy being one. that feels British English, and some others I noticed on other vids. anyway thanks for the videos. great job.
@shariwuebben72809 ай бұрын
Crappy is common American English too! I think it's universal! Cold, rainy, weather, the only word that fits is crappy!

You need to tote an axe with you. I have a GFA Small Forest axe that I tote when I am afield. You can hammer with it and cut down trees if you have to. If I have to cut bigger trees I take my Scandinavian Forest axe with me, same maker as the Small Forest axe.
