I made that hike with a good friend who was the one who installed the flag pole. A friend of his made the special box to hold the flag. You should have hoisted it while you were there. Definitely great views as you said. I enjoyed your video as well.

Oh no kidding? That's very cool and thanks for sharing that. I considered hoisting it, but the note in the box made it sound like the flag had been put away for the winter time so I opted not to. Hindsight, it probably would've survived the night without issue. Thank you for watching!

Another great one! Definitely a fun little adventure. Beautiful area. Too bad we don't live closer to each other, since we both are mostly solo guys, would be cool to meet up for something like that someday. Also, how did you like that Salmon chowder? See you on the next one. Happy trails!

Yeah no kidding man. I'm never opposed to a little drive for some big views. The Salmon Chowder was pretty good. The freeze dried salmon didn't quite rehydrate and it was pretty chewy but I probably just didn't let it sit in the water long enough. It was cold in there! Overall, the flavor was awesome though. Thanks so much for watching and for the continued support!

Pretty sure the locals in The Yaak put that sighn about the Grizz up to keep the out of staters out... Yaakers are very protective. Some beautiful shots in there...especially of the lookout at the end. Hike on my friend!

OMG!!! Northwest Peak!!! We know exactly where that is at!!! Longitudely just above Good Grief, ID. just to the east. Guess how we know!!! The best video of that trail head I have seen!!! Question we had at the 1:09 - 1:25 mark, were those trees burned in a fire? Regarding the Leavenworth WA hikers. We watch Leavenworth WA web cams every day. Wow, what a great town. We cannot wait to get a beer at the Ice House place you recommended before. We always love the time you take to do the walk by shots. We definitely appreciate the effort! LOVE the Fall colors!!! My Mom and I both said, wow, easy to twist an ankle on all those rocks. Total ankle break city. No worries, with Lolly leading the way!!! So rocky, but SO beautiful!!! What great views!!!! Nice hut, considering. I am always amazed with the effort it takes to build a place like that!!! Door behind a door. 😊 NOT too shabby at all!!! Holy Moly, what an insane view!!!!! Literary Heaven on earth!! Wow, so awesome to see the messages people that were there before you left behind. OMG, I wish I could lose my water weight that quickly!!! Every time we see your videos with all those rocks, especially at the summit, we wonder how they got there geologically. That is mind boggling to us!! Talk about being on top of the world. My friend, I TOTALLY know where you are!!! What great views!!! Hehehehehe, nice outhouse! We could not read the sign inside, but we are sure it was hysterical!!! Always LOVE your drone footage. You are VERY subtle when you incorporate it, BUT OMG it is INSANE!!! Most content creators would make that footage the primary, BUT that is your B roll. Holy MOLY!!! So Beautiful!!!! Fun fact, we had no idea what golden hour was, but the first time we heard it was on one of your first vids. I think it it was Tubs hill. You nailed it!!! Salmon Chowder??? Hmmm, how did that taste? OMG, total major chuckles on the cookie brand! Hehehehehhe! Dude, it was a squacth!! 😊😊😊 Quick question, was that 10/3 or 10/5, in your journal? Definitely looks like that structure is equipped for some repair. OMG, my Mom and I both said at the same time, you cannot walk that path at dark!!! Those Alpine lakes are SO beautiful!!!! LOVE YOUR DRONE WORK!!! OMG, so spectacular!!!!!!!! How is this not award winning??? OMG, the 23:52 mark. OMG!!! Sea of pines, how great is that!!! Crazy decent, not as bad as the devils staircase, but pretty hairy! So beautiful, so beautiful! Nice job getting back to the trail!!! BTW: Lovin’ that blade on your shoulder strap! Good Lord, how spectacular and amazing is that alpine lake shot. OMG!!! Love the shout out to Toby Keith! 😊 Stay safe my brother!

So glad you enjoyed the video! Those trees were definitely burned a big fire at some point. All the dead standing trees made me wish I had my truck and chainsaw. This trip was insane, and the in person views were some of the best I've ever seen. I don't quite have the camera gear (yet) for handheld b-roll, so I'm glad to hear you guys appreciate the subtle drone footage. It'll do for now! The Salmon Chowder actually was pretty tasty. Great flavor! With how cold it was in the shack I let it rehydrate for the minimum time necessary and when eating it the salmon was still pretty chewy. Overall, would definitely recommend it! Definitely not as bad as Devil's Staircase.. Thank the lord. Not sure how Lolly would handle that! Thank you again to both of you for the constant channel support. Much appreciated!!

Beautiful!! I've been researching lookout towers recently. The view from that one is amazing!! I'm heading to Scotchman's Peak in hopes of seeing the larches this weekend. I missed them last year in the North Cascades, so I am hopeful based on your video. It was another great one!

@@DannyJSchaefer Scotchman's Peak was amazing, but one of the most difficult hikes I've done. The larches weren't turning yet, but I did get to see a mountain goat, so that made up for the trees. 😀

It’s cool historical stuff like that I can dig. Pretty awesome, but dang Danny… 22lbs of water! lol. That salmon chowder meal sounds interesting. Thanks for vlogging this!✌️

You and me both! And yeah... needless to say that next day of hiking without that water made me feel like I was frolicking in the clouds 😂 That Salmon Chowder had really good flavor - perfect for a cold night. I just didn't let it rehydrate all the way and the Salmon chunks were kinda chewy. Thanks for watching!

Are those your knees creaking? :) This would have been fun to do, but, I didn't get an invite ;) Looks awesome! Love the shameless plug for the channel! The plastic bowl ish looking thing is a dish washing pan. The trail to the larches here in WA have become a disaster, seriously. We came across the N. Cascade Hwy last Sunday and the cars were parked on both sides of the road east and west at all the trail heads both ways for over a mile or more. We figured maybe 500 cars in total.
@DannyJSchaefer
@DannyJSchaefer 15 күн бұрын
Haha you heard that too? Every dang step something was creaking! Guessing it was the new pack. Sorry for not inviting! This was a spur of the moment one day'er like most of my trips this year it seems. Barely made it out myself. Your state and the hiking scene is pretty outrageous these days.. can't lie. I did Jade Lake earlier in the year and the amount of people were insane.

Curious, what’s the weight of that pack?
@DannyJSchaefer
@DannyJSchaefer 22 күн бұрын
The pack itself weighs about 3 lbs or so. It's by Seek Outside and is probably one of the most comfortable packs I've worn. While hiking and with the water I packed up, it weight probably close to 55 lbs if I had to guess.

@@DannyJSchaefer Wow, I’m impressed. You must be a strong dude, I’m 61, I can squat 3x5 with 285, deadlift 370 and I’m fairly fit cardio wise. I just did a 2K overnight camping trip with a pack that weighed 48 lbs and it was REALLY challenging. I did have to go up a fairly steep incline to get there and over a large field of boulders, but I don’t think I will EVER carry a pack that heavy again.

Earth's Most Isolated House. Quite a statement considering that you and many others have been there! What makes you qualified to say that???

I would say is a conveyance of the feeling of isolation rather the actually location. Not everything has to be tangible it can be metaphorical....
