Marie, Comet, and I head out into the snow-covered forest to do an overnight tarp camping trip and snowshoe hare hunt.
This time, Marie and I started our adventure with a short walk in to a nice clearing in the woods I had spotted last fall. We built our selves a short-term tarp shelter, collected lots of wood from nearby trees, and then crafted ourselves a nice hot fire to last us the night. After that was finished, I decided to try my luck hunting the snowshoe hare that were in the area, as I had noted the amount of tracks I had seen earlier in the day. Without luck, I returned to camp and Marie and I cooked ourselves some pork ribs we had packed in. We then converted our fire into a Siberian log fire, and went to bed. The next morning, we awoke and cooked some sausages. After, we began packing up to head out. We tore down the shelter, returned the wood we used back to nature, and made sure our fire was out. That concluded our trip in the Canadian backwoods.
Enjoy the silent adventure.

Enjoy the silent adventure everyone! The best ways to help me and the channel out are to leave feedback on what you liked and didn't like, share the video, and give it a thumbs up if you enjoyed. Doing these three things allow me to produce better content at a quicker rate for you all to enjoy. Stay warm and have a great day!

I really enjoy your videos. They're beautifully filmed, edited and always provide interesting content. But who is the person behind these creations? I would love to hear some dialogue, minimal would suffice. Teaching points, why you chose your location? Outdoor techniques and goals you're working on etc. Just my selfish ask! haha Keep doing you.

make a half circle with the snow 10 ft. from your shelter. build your fire in between the wall of snow and the shelter and your night will be comfortable. also if you are using tripod sides stack pine boughs around them,it will make your evening much more comfortable and is shelter for your tools.

They are pull saws you have to train the brain and hands to pull on the cut and never push and remember it is not a race you can not treat it like a push saw or you will have nothing but bent blades us it as it was made to be used and it will be your best buddy in the forest trust me . Stay safe out there and you should also when the timber is available try out the Siberian Log fire we did and it's great but we do not have the timber you do here in California it would take 5 years to get permission to fell a 10 to 20 inch tree so We have to find fails and that's stuff here .Happy trails

Love the atmosphere, the cinematography, and the fact that you just let us enjoy what you're doing without the annoying lectures on how or why you did this or that. Some natural banter wouldn't be unwelcome, as I see you've got some requests for that, but I've no need for it. The peace and quiet is just one of the great reasons I love the great outdoors.

Great video, Why don't you built yourself a "Yaranga" which is a tent within a tent..... It's traditionally use by the "Chukchi" tribe who lives deep in the siberians, It'll keep you warm even if the temp outside plummeted into the negatives Celsius just by using your bodyheat..... You can use a modern tent to be the "outer" tent and use a traditional "Yaranga" for the inner tent where you'll be sleeping in.....

I never understand these shelters, what exactly do they shelter you front there's nothing to it? If you didn't have a four seasons sleeping bag you'd be knackered?!

Depends on the situation, that's why I carry a tarp and know other setups. We just had light snow that night so a tarp worked perfectly fine for us

the difference between out of the wind and wet and being directly open to the sky is night and day in terms of core temp retention. would you go back centuries and complain that tribesmen used furs and leathers to cover themselves? probably not.

I was waiting to see if anyone would notice. We had to bring her home because she had gotten herself completely soaked and was too cold to stay the night. That's why there was a slight time jump between building the shelter and putting the beds in it.
