Tom- am very sorry to hear of the invasion into your camp, and the theft of things that are obviously important to you. I’ve never experienced a home invasion but it is no less the same for you. You did your best with the trail cam. But better efforts to conceal might work. Still, crafty thieves can disguise themselves and their faces. It is such a shame. Your cabin has become a focal point for many great videos. To anyone out there who may have thought that this was a good idea to raid Tom’s cabin- WE are watching you. And you will be found! Greetings from Texas kind sir! Sorry to hear about the theft. What comes around goes around. Hopefully it doesn't happen again. As always, love the leatherwork. Good quality work, beautiful simple design. Like the knife too. The cocobolo really adds to the beauty. For those that don't know, cocobolo is a Central American hardwood. When the tree is harvested and processed, the heartwood is primarily used and as it dries out it darkens quite a bit giving it its beautiful colors. Great wood to work with. Hi Tom. Thanks for a relaxing video although I was so sad to hear your bad news. It's a sad reflection on modern society that nothing can be considered safe now. In the past my grandparents never used to lock their doors but everything is different now. I must admit to having a similar experience to you. I had a small cabin in my garden which was used as an office as well as a quiet retreat. In spite of being locked, the cabin was broken into one night. Apart from a broken door there was no real damage although my books and files were thrown around. The really sad part was that I had several different brands of single malt whiskey which were taken!!!!! You do seem so relaxed sitting drinking coffee and smoking your pipe. That was always my dad's way of relaxing as well; happy days.

@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag here it has become hard to find places to set up camps and even to camp overnight, city laws and bylaws and vandals make it hard , you have to own the land or have some agreement with neighbors to find a safe spot, Not as when I was a boy scout in the sixties, ce could camp practically anywhere. The world has changed too much for me going to be 68 and seen it change from when horses carried the bread to fast lane automobile. Thanks for teaching love on nature and slow pace.✨

Tom, get three deer cameras, place one facing your camp and the other two on the trail going to your camp . Place one facing toward the camp and the other facing away from your camp , then you will catch the outlaws !

I was so sorry to hear about the theft of your personal possessions and the invasion of your personal space. It is yet another example of the tragedy of our society. I have had several experiences of this myself and found it very difficult to recover from. My father's watch was stolen from my house something that he gave to me before he passed away, I will never get that back. But I reconciled it by realising that, it was just stuff, it wasn't my memories of him or my sense of who I was. It is a difficult thing to accept but bad things even happen to good people. I admire you stoicism and your grace and sense of dignity that you displayed in this video, never letting it beat you just living your life as you probably always have and always will regardless, you are an example to us all my friend. Hello Tom, good to see an overnighter. I think this is the best overnighter so far. Dinner and breakfast was spot on. I really enjoy your overnighters because we get to spend more time with you. As far as the pouches. I do like the new one for its plainess. Although, I do like the other one a lot, it would be my pick. I am really sorry for the trespass and stealing of your things. You are such a gentle and caring man, that anyone who would violate your domain is absurd. Here in Alaska many people with remote cabins will cut a large piece of Birch bark or Spruce bark and cover the trail cams so they are harder to spot. One suggestion, how about adding a solid front to your camp that swings up so you have an extended roof and then put it down and lock it when you leave? Thanks for sharing. By the way. I ordered the No. 7 knife.

I can't imagine how upsetting it was to see that someone burglarized your wonderful camp. Absolutely terrible. There are so many horrible people in this world, unfortunately. It was a great video Tom, very sorry to you have had thieves in your camp, you can't leave anything these days, it didn't seem to mess up your enjoyment though, it was a great knife but a bit of a design fault with the scale sticking out like that, bushcraft knives need square or slightly rounded scale ends, i think you probably hit it with your piece of timber, but the blade stood up well I liked both your pouches Thenks for sharing 👍

So sorry about your shelter. I hope you can replace everything soon. You should definitely put more security cameras. Maybe you should make doors for your shelter that you can lock when your not there. Just glad you were not hurt and you shelter was not destroyed.

Very disappointing to hear of the thefts, it is one thing to come across a camp and use what you need, if you are in need, and leave the camp better than you found it, but I guess not everyone respects Bush rules. A shame. That being said, I thank you for your effortless and humble nature and sharing your passion with us. You have rekindled my love of my pipes, and when I pour a whisky I find I wink and smile a little. Keep on keeping on, and hopefully the thieves will find a little karma, and perhaps learn a lesson in being a better person(s).

Cocobolo wood is very nice and makes beautiful handles, and is a good hardwood, but I agree the handle design could maybe be more rounded at the hilt end to avoid small breaks like that, and I like you do prefer Carbon steel, it is a very nice looking knife thou.
