Mr. Bill. Good to see you got out and about. We were hauling logs out of the river off of the 4670 most of the summer. And you are correct that all of 46 and 224 from ripplebrook to Promitory is closed. Lots of trees and land slides are still coming down. Had to carry a saw in the log truck! Anyway as of November 1 the word from the forest service was they plan on opening it up next summer.

Hey...right-on Lawrence, good to hear from you. Can't wait to see that area opened back up. Thanks for the update. We just got lucky and did an overnighter in the snow. Till next time...Happy Trails! : )

Breaks my heart seeing olallie like that! So many great memories with good friends and now that area will be closed for the winter. So sad 😞

Good to see you back on the trail Bill! I see you ditched the nerf bars! The fire damage is absolutely heartbreaking. Will take a long time to replenish and be as lush as it used to be.
@MonsterJeep3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's good getting out again. The nerf bars we're just getting in the way, but I miss them when I get in and out. lol The fire damage is pretty crazy to see, I hear we may get more access next summer.

Wow great to be able to ride along to see the damage was the cabin spared
@MonsterJeep3 жыл бұрын
Hey Woodchuck...yeah, if you're talking about the cabins at the resort and the little store cabin at the day use area, they were all saved. But the campgrounds like Camp 10, Pennisula and Horeshoe all got torched, not sure about Brietenbush Lake, but it could be torched, there was a nice little shelter there. The cabin at Olallie Meadows is fine, the fire didn't get to that area.

Hate to see all the burnt timber but I bet it felt good to get up there again! Great video!

Hello Kris...Yeah, this was my first trip back to Olallie Lake since the fires from the summer of 2020. Hard to believe all those miles of forest have burned. It is interesting seeing the landscape without the cover of trees though. And it was definitely good to get out again. I think we got another tripped planned this next weekend with a good little group. Still watching the wind, but if we get up high enough, we might see some snow...keep your fingers crossed! 🤣

Good video! Enjoy your jeep adventures!! Just got a gopro in mine I need to cobble together a few of my own. Just a few miles from ya in SW Washington
@MonsterJeep3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Schizzultz! Look forward to see some more Jeep videos. I had a lot of fun developing some video editing skills. One tip...multiple cameras or angles is a game changer. ; ) I may be traveling to SW Washington this winter for some snow wheeling...not much available around here right now. Thanks for the feedback, till next time...Happy Trails! : )

Well my friend, you had an itch that needed scratches! I was wondering how long it would be before you got out there. Sad to see all the burnt trees near Ollalie. So tell me, how tempting was it to continue all the way down 42 to see what 46 looked like. I've been jonesing to see 224, 46. 57, 58, 63 and 70! Good video!
@MonsterJeep3 жыл бұрын
Hey Wayne...yeah, it was good to get out and take a little look around. We didn't head down by 46 to see how far we could go and I hear 224 is closed at Promontory Park, but you're right...I really wanted to see up by Horseshoe and Spoon Lake. We just got back from a weekend in the snow... : ) Thanks for watching!

@@MonsterJeep Hey Man, I have a question. Have you ever camped next to Hideaway lake? Just curious?

Yeah, I've camped at the lake once, and then a couple of spots close by.

Hey Bill... Chris from venture4wd is seeking a repair shop in the Portland area for his Jeep... Can you advise him ? Thanks, Randy Astoria
@MonsterJeep3 жыл бұрын
Hey Randy, the only suggestion I feel comfortable with would be Jeep West, but they are out towards Estacada. There's a fella names Chris Hines that does some good Jeep work, but I can't remember his outfit. The only other person I would feel comfortable with is south of Salem, Hamms Offroad. I do most all my own work, so I don't have a lot of resources. I hope that helps. If Jeep West is busy, he knows who Chris Hines is, they used to have a shop together maybe he can advise another local place. Best of luck. 👍
