Yeah if I was still hunting those would be in the pack. That jumping /gripping surface on the big Skinner is genius. Hands cold trying to hold on to a slick fatty bloodied blade is a pain and can be dangerous at times. The "tooth , single serration" speaks for itself, hone it with a DMT tri fold rat tail red and a ceramic

After seeing your first set up of your hot tent I too jumped on the bandwagon I purchased the one tigris tegimen I carried it to hangcon 2023 and absolutely enjoyed it and the privacy I had which was more my primary reason for purchase. I did however buy the buddy heater for mine instead of a wood stove . I have thought of double under quilting and also thinking of doubling the top quilt I have the colder rated equipment now and could purchase the 40 degree range and cut back on insulation when the nights are milder .. thank you for sharing your ideas . Looking forward to seeing you at your gathering .. I’m hoping they will be flying the choppers at night .. that constant distant hum was such a soothing and serene sound ..

G'afternoon Blackie ! I doubt I'll ever be in the market for a hot tent, but I'm sold on the Onewind 12' double wide and the quilts. I can get a perfect diagonal, and a very decent side lay in it. You definitely get more than what you pay for ... mosquito netting, ridgeline, organizer, straps, stuff sack. The quilts compress down to 12" x 6". My hammock, two quilts, and a 10' x 10' tarp fit easily in the main compartment of my pack. I won't be getting rid of my New French F2 tent, but I don't think I'll be looking at any new ones ! Glad you enjoyed your trip to Mississippi.

Hi Blackie. I think a sand battery (metal container full of sand) on the stove top would greatly extend the warming cycle after the burn stops. Some folks use these as stove heaters in their homes.

Hi Blackie, I had a thought. I the winter time , we had humidity to the house to make the house feel warmer. What if you put a pot of water on top of your stove to add a little humidity to your tent . Would it help or cause more problems?

So the big question is... What was the burn time, how often did you have to reload it?

i found the start load ( heavy on smalls to get the coal bed started) was maybe 20 min..then i reloaded with larger stuff 30-40 min finally i added 3 to 4 inch rounds into those coals and it ran for say a hr

@@blackoracle69 Interesting..! To get it to run 6 hours or more I see 2 options.. 1) Open up the inside for a larger burn chamber and bigger fuel capacity. 2) insert a propane burner in the bottom. It will purr along toasty warm all night.
