To me, it's not because it's popular, it's because it created an entire generation of girl groups being pushed to doing girl crush, just see what they did to weeekly, we basicaly lost them for no reason. Also, the amount of girl crush fans who think cute concepts are cringe and feel like they can have an opinion when all they listen to is blackpink is ridiculous. I love blackpink and I love girl crush, but I feel like it's overused in the industry and the disrespect to the other genres that BUILT kpop (and are still the favorites among koreans) really annoys me

The genres that built kpop is hip-hop first And 'girlcrush' is a type of music not a genre. Blackpink does hip-hop mainly, And tries to bring in a different genre for each song in their albums If the TT is edm, the others are dancehall, ballad, trap, hip-hop etc To say BP does same kinda songs is a joke ngl And I find no valid reason as to why ppl feel a need to join the hate bandwagon to say BP's gc is overrated just cuz others followed it. I love gc and will always do. I never find it boring and tbh love every group's gc songs more than the others.

Jennie herself said on a interview that they look like kids next to real hip hop artists, and blackpink only uses the "energy" of hip hop which is swag, but musically speaking they don't do hip hop. Anyways, I don't hate on blackpink, I hate on the people who only listens to blackpink and think they have valid opinions about kpop, that was my point.

Still don't understand the loco hate.
