Thank you Abi for sharing your honesty. I think you spoke for a number of us. As a new indoor plantie gal, I just pick plants that are appealing and beautiful to me, and those that I sincerely feel I am willing to put in the work to take care of. There's so much to learn about each plant. I don't mind that some plants are really expensive, as are certain cars, homes, clothing, etc. And just like certain other things in life are overrated and pricey, so are many of these plants. They all can have the same fate: if they do not receive the proper care, they die, no matter how much you paid for them.

Spot on Abi, with everything you said. Plants are being kept in the rare category by making sure that they don't flood the market on purpose!

I'm the exact same! The most expensive one i got was a Monstera deliciosa for£34 and I would never spend more than that. I LOVE all things against the motion that everyone seems to gravitate towards. I personally think there's so many VERY pretty and cheap/available plants that are way too underrated. For example Begonia Rex 😍

I find that super bright light and a daily spray of orchid fertiliser speeds up the compacta growth as well as my other Hoyas.

I really don't understand the hype with vareigated adensonii and pink princess.. I really dint like birkin as well, but was gifted one and found some in aldi for really cheap and I like it now for their growth! I like my plants to grow quick too !

There were some azlaniis for sale in a garden centre near me for about £130, quite nice looking! But I'm not a fan of the shiny plastic look s:

100% with all you said, specifically that pink princess is blah lol. I saw a variegated tetrasperma on FB for £3000, people need to come down 😂 but tbh everyone got a budget and spend limit. I can't justify a plant more than £100 and I have to be able to propagate and sell to bring the cost down.

I heard there are different types of florida ghost. One that darkens as it matures and another that keeps its variegation as it matures. Luckily I have the latter.

The phil birkin looks like a hosta to me, and everyone has hostas in their front yards where I live in New England. I don't see the appeal either. I'll stick with my phil prince of orange for cheap. Have you had any experience keeping nepenthes? So much variety and many hybrids don't require anything too special except low TDS water. Love your channel, great content!

It’s a dress and it’s from Primark (but last summer). They carry some really decent tea / floral dress recently!
