Roger Kellaway, the man who did the music for this flick, also wrote the music to go with the lyrics written by Carroll O'Connor for the outro of "All in the Family", entitled "Remembering You".

This movie poses more questions than answers. How was Derenzy able to tune into an alien's brain and see its future? Why was that guy in a bar eating spaghetti with two forks? Who was the blind guy and why did everyone he crossed paths with end up killed by the creature? What was up with that slow transition to her on the horse? Why did the cop just ignore the crime scene to stare at people? Did the monster give Derenzy a stroke? Why did the guy from the boat have a vision of the penultimate killing? Why did it affect their throats? What was with the parking garage scene with Keenan Wynn and why did his character just disappear mid movie? Were the victims able to hear the whispering? What was that "SORENTO!" during the climax of the film? WHY WAS IT SO EASY TO KILL?!?!

This movie was a result of a literal last minuet script changes because Star Wars was gaining popularity and the producers wanted to go from supernatural horror to sci-fi, hence the schizophrenic plot and weird editing. A lot of story elements were already filmed, it was passed from editor to editor to save it but it became a jumbled mess anyway.

Vivian Blaine was one of the first celebrities to recognize AIDS for what it was and to encourage others to help those stricken with the disease. She may've done this not only to make money for herself but for the APLA (AIDS Project - Los Angeles). A fact in honor of Pride Month!

HA-he-HO-Haa! That was a great one! Lots of good riffs and lines. My favorite was "Can I call you a doctor?" "I'm not a doctor." -I wonder if in the Long Version they mentioned the movie was aptly named. It was The Dark! I could hardly see anything.

Oh my god, what did they use for a video source??? Please tell me that's not the Blu-Ray... Poor Roger Kellaway. He's a pretty big deal in the non-pop-rock music world, with over 250 albums and several awards, but in Hollywood he constantly got hooked up with crummy B-movie projects like JAWS OF SATAN, EVILSPEAK, LEGEND OF HILLBILLY JOHN, SILENT SCREAM and of course THE DARK, and A-list misfires like Streisand's A STAR IS BORN remake. His most respected movie project is probably the Sanrio anime THE MOUSE AND HIS CHILD and you can't even get it on (legit commercial) DVD outside of Japan. From the comments at Rifftrax's page for the film: "This one's (kinda) famous for shifting gears during the last minute. Originally--as reflected in the novelization, which you might want to dig up if you also enjoy your crappy movie in book form--the monster was a guy who discovered immortality as a cannibal zombie (the downside being that he's still a shambling stinky semi-mindless zombie). But then the producers decided going 'sci-fi' would be more profitable, so some 'aliens walk among us' hoohah and crappy 'laser' effects were tacked onto the existing footage."
