She definitely isn't in the wrong here. It's so sad how she has been very invested in her family's history and looking forward to the tradition being carried down to her, only for it to go to her brother. These types of things also create resentment between siblings which is awful 😭 If anything she deserves the watch not only because she's the first born but because of how invested and in touch she is with their roots.

I think its about the watch staying with a person with the same family name .. is she likely to change her surname after she marries and even if she doesnt her first born will most likely have their dads family name .. which might not be the case but obvs to the father it’s important it stays in the family.. i get why she’s upset.. rightfully so.. but now that im about to have a baby and hes going to take his dads name i fully get her dads side.. she could inherit it and pass it to the first born who has the same family name .. even if its her babies .. or her brothers babies .. what if her brother has only girls though? Madness ..
