One thing I didn't show so well in the video is that the left hand will actually start to move down with the weight shift. My apologies. Also, most people probably won't get their lead leg quite as far back as I do and that is 100% OK! Check out our Drew + Simon Side by Slow Motions to see how they differ there. I'm showing a bit closer to how Drew does it over how Simon loads. That video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIu8dpiKl9KEsLs

I've been having a hard time wrapping my head around the left arm thing. I've been practicing for a bit with it, and it feels like I'm just supposed to be using the left arm (the whole left side?) to add more weight into the brace. I'm really hoping I'm on the right track, it does seem to add some easy distance when I get the timing right.

I have no clue why but mental tricks like the right shoulder to left hip thought completely allows me to fix my issues. I’ve always been a mental trick guy even throughout my life with baseball. I don’t know why but somehow its so difficult to fix my form and then as soon as I get a mental fix like this one it all becomes so incredibly easy. No idea why but if you have a drill or mental fix for every error in the disc golf swing please please please make a video on that. For whatever reason my body just won’t understand until it has an alternative way to imagine the different parts of the shot. Thank you for y’alls amazing content. You guys rock.

Hi Josh, this is a great breakdown! I have found it so helpful to start putting things together. I have a question about how you describe the weight shift from back to front foot starting around 2:48. You instruct to reach full backswing and then to shift weight onto the front foot. I have previously been shifting weight forward while I simultaneously reach back. Is the way you describe it (one after the other rather than simultaneous) how the sequence will go in a fully formed backhand? Or have you just separated those two pieces as a training tool for the purposes of the video? Thanks so much!

Also, do some research on "dynamic stretching" because if you haven't yet you're probably actually thinking of "ballistic stretching" which is not the best way to warm up. You want to focus on gently moving through your range of motion with control rather than throwing your limbs to the edge of their flexibility.

This vid made me realize I don't do weight shift correctly, like not using my hips correctly and weight on heel. No wonder I'm stuck at 413 ft, I happened to get 450 ft once but I haven't been able to do it again so far. I guess I've been throwing disc via brute force and mainly upper body speed. This video is telling me to start learning to use lower body to make my life easier with distance shots.

I really love this drill! One of the best for getting the feel of backhand form. So, I have a unique offarm move. I bring my hand to my inner thigh and then I push off of my thigh. But my arm stays on my thigh even through the follow thru. IS THAT OK? I ask because I see so many people end up with that cool pose. My just kinda.stays on.my thigh thru the entire follow thru.
