Democracy starting in 1800s always has unfair Newspapers and Lies but a fair election usually is enough to throw out the awful side. People share rumors and stories and they directly know if they are getting paid less well. If you disagree with how a newspaper or channel covers a story then send out 1000 volunteers to go door-to-door and explain to potential voters the truth. In America we call it "canvassing", and thousands through the campaign of their candidate arrange to visit each voter in the area at their door. When the govt starts saying they will make media be "fair", it usually means the opposite. Again if you want volunteer, pay for ads, don't demand govt make the media "fair". . . . . Democracy is often dirty and unfair, but the US said it is better to say govt can't control media, the 1st Amendment says govt can't make any law about press, it sounds like wonderful idea but we in US say no it causes more harm than good. . . I think Vivek has killer points and I generally agree with him. It gets us nowhere to point the finger rather than just condemning the act. The difference between the US capitol riots and the national witch hunt against Trump in the Russia collusion narrative is that even if you show that a majority or all of the people there were rioting, which security camera footage disproves, it is nothing compared to the entire mainstream attack by the majority of liberals and even centrists on the legitimacy of the 2016 election by means of impeachment, which did not have people breaking into the Capitol because the whole attack was already nationally accepted and legal to pursue. Vivek Ramaswamy is telling you that you can do whatever you want in America that doesn’t go against basic morality and that the government is there to serve the people. Of the people, by the people, for the people. He is not telling you, like other people in this video are saying, that you should just change the method of attacking democracy and not fulfill the people's needs and the government's purpose. If it's not protesting the government (as there were Democratic protestors immediately after Trump got elected), crime (as Bill Maher stated it was a "false equivalency"), then the raison d'être must be two things: people’s trust in the power of democracy AND people’s trust in democratic governance by elected officials. We shouldn’t turn a blind eye to what elected officials are doing, whether Democrat or Republican, and just say to vote for them without criticizing or even daring to support a particular candidate. That’s why freedom of speech is so important, because elected officials LIE (Trump is the most prominent example). And by the way, if Trump did intend to incite anything more than peaceful protests, through his lies, why did he state to SUPPORT CAPITOL POLICE at noon on January 7 before the protestors reached the Senate, as shown through evidence on Twitter? “Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!” “I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order - respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!” I never voted for Trump in either election, by the way and I will definitely not in the future with the other things he is being impeached for.

Vivek ignores how the Right using white replacement and white flight as their predicate justification is passing laws and measure penalizing any teaching spotlight the discriminatory actions (such as redlining, housing and employment discrimination) by institutions and governmental bodies. Finally, Vivek ignores how the Right in Red States has been busy since 2020 passing measures designed to make it easier to selectively purge voter registration rolls, selectively (and disproportionately) reduce the hours of operations of polling places, staff the polling places, the number of polling places with no safeguards against disparate impact on minority or democrat voting areas. They also passed measures making it easier to simply ignore the popular vote outcomes at the local, county, state and even federal election level. Instead, Vivek falsely equates p*ssy hat protests with the Right's moves to limit voter access, voter participation and voter turnout. He also falsely equates the Democrats stating that Russia had favored Trump and interfered with the 2020 elections, to Trump and the GOP (almost 100% of them leading up to Jan 6 and then it only dropping to 85% after that) overtly rejecting the results and undertaking efforts in multiple venues and by several different means to overturn the election results.
