When I first heard “What’s in your Heart” a few years ago, it stopped me dead in my tracks. It’s great to see musicians with chops who can display what they do but still serve the song and groove. Reverb happens from reflections and distance, compression is actually achieved by your ears when the SPI of a sound is too loud, the brain naturally attenuates the signals. In the last week since I first heard Clown Core, I think Louis Cole has become one of my favorite musicians ever. Everyone involved here is so mind-blowingly good at what they do, and I CANNOT get these songs out of my head, not that I want to. On top of the overwhelmingly impressive musicianship, Genevieve has such an infectious voice and presence. Everything about this music is perfect and I will be annoying about it and tell everyone I know.
