We just purchased one of the ATEM Extreme SDI units for our church but I’m running into an issue right out of the box. I know you mentioned you also use OBS to do overlay and lower thirds. When I plug in the switcher and open it as a video capture device in OBS it is overly saturated and has added contrast. The device doesn’t give the option for “partial” or “full” color. Any ideas on a fix? Thanks so much for your help and your content!

Can you please show as well the hardware connection? Currently you have Ate mini pro + OBS+Pro presenter? If you could show the setting and configuration that would be a great help.

I'm running OBS software on a Macbook and sending that out via HDMI (there's a setting called Full Screen Projector in OBS Software) to the Camera 4 port of the ATEM Mini Pro. I have Camera 4 renamed in the ATEM Software and set as a Chroma Key.

@@francisnaval no, this is just a setting in OBS software that allows that signal to output to full screen. Once you have it connected, right click the preview screen in OBS, and it should give you that option.

Great vid! Question: I'm trying to do a live stream where I'll be switching between 1 camera & an iPad that will be running an intro, outdo & a 30 sec commercial spot. OBS is not seeing the ATEM mini. It did see the Camera when I had it plugged in directly, but now is not working again. Any ideas? Or better yet, someone who could guide me through the process? I know there's got to be a way to do it. Thanks much! - Matt

It's been a while, but I think with our setup, we did it the other way around. OBS and cameras all went into the ATEM through HDMI inputs. For the ATEM to see the camera, you need to make sure you're sending the resolution it expects to receive. That's likely where you're running into a problem.

I like your movie very much. Well done! How do you record on ssd with a Atem mini pro? Thought it was only possible with the Atem mini pro iso.

Good question, Jom. The ISO version gives you separate recordings from each camera, but the Pro version records whatever you sent to the program feed. Since we're mixing as though we're live, that works just fine, and it saves editing time as well.

Love the video but I have a question. What if I wanted to stream with OBS on my PC, instead of the Mini Pro and I had my Mini Pro HMDI out to another monitor/TV. Will the USB from the Mini Pro into my PC bring up video feed from the switcher to add as a video capture source in OBS? If so will it just show the LIVE camera from the switcher in OBS and not the multiview?

Not totally following you yet. What are you wanting to achieve with OBS, and what are you wanting to achieve with the ATEM Mini Pro?

@@media.alliance So basically I want to do my switching and livestreaming through OBS on my PC instead of ATEM mini pro. I want use the ATEM to just capture my video from multiple camera angles and livestream from my PC. Is that possible with this switcher?

@@theberserkerrrr yeah, you can absolutely do that. The ATEM Mini Pro has a USBC output that is designed to identify as a webcam when you send it to your computer. So instead of capturing on a drive there, you would send that to your PC, and then into OBS. Then, your streaming and keying effects could all happen through OBS, and you could still send the HDMI output to your multiview television.

@@media.alliance Thank you sooo much! One more question, when I add it to OBS as a video capture what scene from the switcher will pull over to OBS? Will it be the scene thats LIVE only? Or will it be whatever view im using on the switcher? For instance on my other monitor the ATEM is outputting to I want to have a Multiview on, but in OBS I only want it to show the LIVE view from that multiscreen view. Also I definitely think you should make a video on this, ive searched and see others asking the same question but there is NO video answering this directly. Also thanks so much again for all your help!

@@theberserkerrrr Yeah, the output on USB-C is your program feed - the shot that you've selected on the switcher.
