The Wavedrum is amazing, its a one of a kind instrument that blends the acoustic sound from the head/rim with physically modelled electronic sounds. It combines the intimacy of an acoustic instrument with the flexibility of an electronic drum.

I agree. But you can't expand it, record the performance or trigger external sounds, so it is too limited for most musicians. Plus, like most modelled devices, it sounds the same after a while and I can recognise the sound of a Wavedrum fairy easily now.

@@edruminfo You definitely can record a performance- just use a DAW.

@@lundsweden Not that sort of performance. Not audio - a midi performance or any data that could be changed after the recording. There were few controllers that were really able to output simultaneous trigger data and midi cc data for the pressure sensor and for the modelled components that could be recorded as data and replayed back into the units to create audio - and this was one of them. Great devices but I never saw them being used on shows or sessions.

My 2 cents... I have the global one and use it a lot, I'm pairing it with a boos rc5 looper and I can make some pretty interesting loops, noises, etc and play my drums on top of those loops. Not that hard to edit but with so many options you don't even feel like playing around, the sound right out the box are fine. Greetings

The original 1994 Wavedrum ironically has MIDI IN/OUT/THRU, but is rare and expensive. I consider the newer models as just something to create loops with, or play live like an acoustic instrument.

It looks like such a simple device, but has an incredible versatility...hard to believe it is electronic. Great job!

"hard to believe it is electronic"?.. Hard to believe it can be anything else but electronic.
