Sorry I come from lot of matches in competitive mode were no one play support unless it in role Que. have no healer 50 match phase multiple tank or full dps team . Keep in mind that it's also a nerf for support. They also get less ult charge when healing tanks. The 40% increase reduction might make healing tanks less rewarding, and with the dps passive on top of it.

If Ram gets played then he'll be countered by Mauga/Hog. If Winston gets played he'll get countered by Hog/Mauga. If Zarya gets played, she'll get countered by Winston and maybe Dva. If Sig gets played, he'll get countered by Sig. If Hog gets played, he'll get countered by Mauga. If Dva gets played, she'll get countered by Zarya and quite probably Mauga. If Rein gets played, he'll get countered by basically everyone. If Ball gets played, he'll get countered by basically everyone. Oh... and Orisa will get countered by everyone that's been powercreeped. And Queen, I mean who plays her with everything being better than her.

Everyone has been complaining about how tank has been miserable to play for months now. Then they get buffed, and everyone complains again. Pharah has been dominating the meta since her rework and she gets a nerf that barely makes a dent in her play... people complain. Reaper loses his identity as a tank buster but is still brutally powerful as a flanker and plays quite well in brawl and dive comps now... Reaper mains complain that they cant 1v1 a tank and win, but honestly I don't think anyone should be able to 1v1 a tank except another tank... If any squishy can beat a tank in a duel with minimal effort, then why they hell are we calling them Tanks? If we are going to stick with solo tank in 5v5 then tanks need to be more powerful and harder to take down for one DPS alone. This isn't 6v6 with two tanks anymore, because in that setup, having tank busters made more sense.

Im going to tell you wtf is going on. Blizzard is going about patching in the laziest way possible, instead of addressing CHARACTER SPECIFIC dynamics theyre just generally buffing entire roles which f*cks up their games balance in ways they cant even understand. This has been happening since they removed character specific passives and decided to just give role specific buffs. IMO Tanks in general needed a buff but this evidently excluded Mauga, roadhog, and orisa. These 3 tanks have pretty much been the only viable picks for the last year or so. Armor changes and dmg role changes just to make tank feel playable is not the move, and its going to make a lot of people a lot more frustrated with the game. I feel like they are focusing way too much on people pleasing when balancing instead of actually understanding their games issues and addressing specifics, and moving towards a defined game identity. Overwatch is about HEROES with specific powers and abilities, and how these interact with one another, when one character specific ability is overpowering or too dominating you dont make EVERYONE in the tank role generally feel like shit or OP, you address the SPECIFIC INTERACTION. And yes it is a pvp game but there is an IDENTITY to it that is self contained, removing details like individual passives and going for a broader passive just to get it out of the way when patching is stupid. Also patches like these where a billion changes are made at the same time not only are detrimental to the games health, but they serve no purpose since devs cant know EXACTLY WHICH CHANGE CORRELATES TO WHAT OUTCOME, so at the end of the day they're wasting their time and just generally making the game less fun for everyone except mauga mains.

For those who don't know, everyone with armor will now have a slight ping of metal sound when hit, and energy absorption sound when hitting shielded heroes. This is noticeable best with Ball as he has both. HOWEVER! Orisa seems to be broken as her armor doesn't have that same audio effect; it still sounds like hitting health. *edit: Technically Ram got stealth nerfed will his Nemesis form now having an 11 second cooldown

I guess we’ll have to see once the dust settles, but I think it is just more of a reinforcement of the norm. That being the over importance of tank. The game was already “eliminate the other teams tank and then wipe the floor” before this patch and I think it’s just gonna be more of that, except with DPS players being less helpful in that fight and supports being more important in that fight. Now I’m a dedicated tank main so I’m fine, it isn’t going to hurt me that badly. The two worst buffs were the mauga and sigma buffs because both were some of the strongest tanks before the patch, but I’m also mostly fine because I have a solid enough gameplay against them. Mauga is probably going to be even more invalidated by any tank hero with a shield and sigma probably can’t do much against a ramattra with a half solid support behind them. I don’t think it will be that bad, it just reinforces the previous way the game was played.

You just want OTHERS to play tank for you! That’s really what you all are saying. You’re just bringing up one section of ow to make your argument when you can take the whole OW player base. And I do remember it but also we are now in a role Que format then an open Que format which has changed the game drastically. That is incorrect, tanks are supposed to absorb damage to their team and make space, not to be the last alive. These buffs just exaggerate other issues like counterswaping and enable tank players to not be punish for poor gameplay and decisions. This patch doesn’t help the game in any meaningful way, all it does is encourage the player to styles plays dislike even more. Also this patch again lowered the skill floor and ceiling on characters which is unhealthy for the game overall. Passively denying value from other players is what made brig and bap oppressive and hard meta in ow1.
