if you can't hit an erratically moving teammate semi consistently, you might want to consider playing an easier healer. Often a Genji player can't afford to slow down to let you heal him, because he'd be killed by the enemies the second he did. Shooting moving teammates is part of Ana's skillset, and should be practiced, instead of mocking the Genji player.

@@ericniesen9361 there are a LOT of team based FPS games. Many games have team based modes in them apart from classic deathmatch mode. You must be only playing Overwatch if you don't know that. Also this is strange - if the only game you play is Overwatch, then why you don't know that if FLANKER hero player just stays behind tanks all the time - then he is bad flanker player, because flankers are designed to flank, harass, distract and kill - not just hiding behind and spam shooting. There are other heroes for that.

He’s not even that bad? He got a pretty good nano blade at the end of the first round, his target priority is pretty decent, okay positioning, decent accuracy, not constantly feeding, working well with healers, etc. He’s not “bottom 500” like people are saying lol.

He's not a bad player he's an ok player. But his team did carry him a little bit especially his tanks. He played ok and didn't feed which is good but any big play was left to the tanks and supports and Genjis in higher ranks can make amazing big plays and shut down a push before it begins by been an absolute pain. He's an ok player for his rank but need to put a lot of work in to climb and be able to make plays.

If you right click-melee mid dash animation, you get an animation cancel where you get a shuriken fan and a melee at the same time at the end of the dash. Its like...one of genjis biggest burst damage techs.

@@ajallen212 yes but it isn't as much damage as just continuing to use secondary fire without melee, due to the long pause that melee forces you into. It's still a great combo because the damage is more instantaneous and guaranteed than using multiple bursts without melee, but the overall DPS is lower, so it should be used only in certain situations and not in every dash engagement.

19:12(?) The reason why the Ana didn't die is because he didn't dash immediately after slashing and also because of the super delayed nano off of his Ana. Basically both him and his Ana misplayed really hard there, which is why this blade just failed to get any value (they essentially traded 2 ults for beat before getting any value out of Nanoblade). What he *should have* done is to go for a dash + right click + melee combo on the Ana to weaken her (it does 164 damage, which is more than enough for a Genji to kill her with a slash + dash combo even if she uses her nade to heal) and then animation cancel and with ult and go for the slash + dash combo, and also his Ana shouldn't have been that slow on giving him nano. Honestly, had he just dashed through and his Ana had landed the nade there it would've killed the enemy Ana, but he waited for the second slash instead.

Hey I got pretty close! I guessed somewhere around the gold/plat border, 2450-2550. Something about his weird flanks, questionable blades and lack of wall climbing telegraphed that he's not yet mastered his hero. His mechanics are decent tho and with some dash/blade discipline this guy could climb no problem. Maybe find an Ana friend he can trust to land Nanos on him too lol

It's important to know where your teammates are at all times, but also being aware of where the enemy team is. Always look around and don't tunnel vision on the teammates your healing. Her beam is pretty long, don't stay near teammates too much or you'll get caught in spam damage. Staying alive is the most important thing, these are pretty basic tips you already know (probably). Ive had matches where I did everything right but still lost, Mercys carry potential is low. Learning one or two different heroes can be a life saver if Mercy isn't working. I made an alternate account and placed in diamond, it took me so long to get there on my main. Maybe you can try that?

I think it's also from the fact that the main difference isn't really skill potential, but rather skill consistency. A high gold Genji like this guy can in some games perform like someone in high plat or even Diamond, but the difference is that the high plat and Diamond Genjis will play like this almost every game, and during every fight of games. But general skill ceiling of every rank has definitely skyrocketed over the past couple of years. It ain't like back in the days where Gold and below couldn't aim and didn't know healthpack locations etc. those days are long gone, but people in Masters and GM haven't seen that evolution of gameplay in mid and lower tiers.

Your mercy is pbbly not in frontline (because you are low ranked it is possible) so she can survive a bit of chip damage or just not get damaged.

I can see this is a low-plat game. I don't need too much time to tell. The only reason Stylosa is umming and ahhing is because he underestimates the skill level of gold players and so his estimates for the levels around gold get screwed up. (I haven't looked at the SR yet, BTW). EDIT - Well damn, high gold. But still this vid shows how much trouble Stylosa has pegging the mechanical skill level of gold players. The problem with gold players is usually not that they have bad mechanical skills, but that those skills are inconsistent (so he can be on fire one minute and then feeding his brains out in another).

I wish he would play or watch some low rank games so he'd know it isn't as bad as he's making it out to be. Landing sleeps etc isn't some diamond+ exclusive, some people in gold have amazing aim (but lack other things), it's frustrating to watch people make ordinary plays for their rank and him think they must be high rank because someone of their rank couldn't *possibly* be capable of that. They are, they just don't have every single thing down. My boyfriend and I both thought this was gold from a few minutes in - he said 2400, I said 2200 maybe slightly lower. It was pretty obvious, and having played across silver to diamond there was no way in hell any one of the players he watched were playing like diamond.

You do know that MMR/SR is also based on how many players there are in that class, right? It's a Bell curve, with Gold being the overwhelmingly biggest part of the graph. That's not because of how it naturally develops; it's by design. Blizzard have designed it so that Gold will be, I seem to recall, about 40-50% of the community. Since there are a whole hell of a lot more DPS players than there are Tanks/Support, you will find a fair amount of DPS players with (probably) Plat-Diamond level mechanical skill in Gold, who just can't advance.

I've said this time and time again, Stys assessment of Gold in particular is really off, he assumes its a level of really poor players but in fact there's very little difference between it and plat/high plat. (I'm a low gold tank, high plat healer, mid gold dps).
