I would much rather a finished project that takes longer to develop than a half completed broken game that doesn't even work half the time. So far Overwatch 2's gameplay is amazing so I'm very excited for what PVE will bring 😄

I'm SO excited for PvE next year. There's going to be a full story mode with voice acting and cutscenes, as well as hero missions where you level up your heroes and get to do crazy shit fighting against AI. Even a lot of the old maps have gotten upgrades to feature new areas to fit these PvE sections, it all just looks like so much fun. They initially announced Overwatch 2 in 2019 as a PvP/PvE game that was going to be released much sooner, but they had to push PvP to be released earlier because of how many delays came with producing a story campaign during Covid (among other issues at Blizzard lol)

The plot is extremely simple and has barely moved since 2016 when OW 1 came out, if you've seen the Disney movie Incredibles all you gotta know is Overwatch was a thing, then it was disbanded and now Winston is putting the group together, all the OW 1 cinematic are occurring while Winston's Recall order is going out. Zero Hour is the end result, OW 2 storymode has been delayed and all the story is individual HEro backgrounds, but pretty much nothing has happened in the current day

There's been some small progress in the short stories and comics. Soldier is off on his own and i think ana is following him to make sure he's okay. Cassidy also created a 2nd OW group consisting of characters who weren't in the original: Zarya, Pharah, Bap, Dva. Also zarya got over her hate for omnics, and sombra's real name was revealed. Lastly, Torb found Bastion in the forest and decided to take him in.

Kiriko’s mother taught the two sons of Sojiro Shimada everything they know about using a sword. As Kiriko’s mother taught Hanzo and Genji, Kiriko tagged along to their lessons and also learned how to fight herself.

Then normal people need to go out wearing an multiple arms plataform exosuit to defend themselves. The mother part was really forced since shes far from a "normal" mother and Kiriko far from a "normal" daughter, not counting she didnt believe in her own mother and daughter when they could literally use the power of the fox spirit, not just saying "hey I have an spirit fox that sometimes speaks to me". I mean they can fucking heal wounds in an instant how the hell you never noticed that until you are middle aged?

@@masterblaster5186 Training does nothing to stop a mother from worrying about their child. She even says in the video her motives were only protection. It was only after witnessing her child as an adult handling the situation on her own, that she was able to understand and move beyond that role.

Religion, even when the miracles are literally and objectively real, can seem like a false hope when you go outside and see that the streets are still run by the Hashimoto yakuza, your husband is still in their clutches, the Shimada clan you loved is all but gone and you know better than anyone else that a single mistake when dodging bullets or blocking knives can mean your death. With her daughter no longer training with her constantly, her husband at the mercy of the Hashimoto, her town under Hashimoto rule and the tragic loss of her own mother, it shouldn't be surprising that even the world's most renowned swordswoman would feel some anxiety when her daughter brushes off her concerns the same way her grandmother did - until her grandmother's spiritual protection failed het.

If you owned overwatch on an account, you shouldn't need to unlock any heroes at all... (not for the first season at least) They're all available to you right away.

It's weird hearing about people needing to unlock characters we've had for years, such a weird choice for progression, but nice way to ease new players in I suppose. Either way, glad you're enjoying the game so far!

That is incorrect. If you owned Overwatch then the characters in Overwatch is already unlocked in Overwatch 2 as long as you connected all your accounts to battlenet so that all of the progress that you have on all the accounts will be merged into one account. And any progress that you make in any account will be showing in any platform that you play on (Xbox, PS, or PC). So you don't have to unlock unless you are a first time player on Overwatch 2 on a new account in battlenet.

There's some deep lore when it comes to Overwatch. Australia was subject to nuclear fallout in a huge war between humans and omnics (robots). The entire country became a huge wasteland, where some survivors created a settlement called Junkertown, which previously outlawed "wastelanders" like Junker Queen and her family. Overall, Junker Queen, Junkrat, and Roadhog aren't exactly involved with Overwatch as an organization, but they are part of the world it all takes place in. Also a little fun fact, Hammond (the hamster inside Wrecking Ball) was a test subject that gained sentience, wound up in Junkertown, was given a mech to control, and won the same arena fight Junker Queen did, becoming a champion of Junkertown. He got a spray in the game that shows him getting crowned by Junker Queen years before she was made a playable character :)

Also, there was a glitch where people had characters locked where when they were players of original Overwatch but they should have that fixed for most people now. Well except for Bastion and Torb since they have some weird glitches in competitive. Bastion ult in competitive is actually broken.

At least you don't have the Mei ice body blocking when she doesn't have a wall available on a payload map at your spawn door last point on Gibraltar. I've had that one before so that they could cap the last point and we couldn't do anything about it.

kiriko is insta - unlock for people who owned ow1 but u can unlock her at 55 lvl on BP.Every new hero can be played in comp after 2 weeks.They also changed some hetoes a little bit for ow2.U would hate mei from ow1 even more xd

U can see tht kiriko is actually have some muscle on her arm during her interaction with the child in the opening. It such a small detail but it gave the overall feel that kirio did have training

the overwatch world is full of characters...not all of whom are part of the overwatch team. there are several factions and some individuals talon is one of main "evil" group = widow-maker, reaper, sigma (all tho he's being manipuled), sombra (altho she's rogue), moira the junkers - junker queen, Roadhog, junkrat, wrecking ball (junkertown champion) for example

'healers' aren't healers. they're called support for a reason. they're so much more than just healing. healing should be like 30% of what you do. Also... not everyone in the game overwatch was on the team overwatch.. Junkrat, Roadhog, Zen, Hanzo, Bastion and theres probably others that weren't in overwatch or have anything to do with them.

So my thinking is, the little girl's family runs a mask shop, or something of that ilk. That's why she has such a high quality mask on herself, and why the headband she gave Kiriko was so appropriate. It was made just for her. Obviously, things aren't going perfectly at home though, since her father owes money to the Yakuza, and has apparently disappeared. On a side note, canonically, Kiriko's father was taken hostage by the Hashimoto clan, so just another love lost between them. Seeing as the Hashimoto clan is also the one that took over after the Shimada clan fell, I hope for another cinematic someday where Kiriko, Hanzo, Genji, and Kiriko's mom Asa, all go to invade the Hashimoto's, to rescue her father and reclaim the Shimada name.

My current understanding of why even the bad guys are working with Overwatch personnel is because they're in it for their own gain. Perhaps the story mode will explain it further, but the fact they have some very unique dialogue with Overwatch heroes indicates that they are possibly struggling with some 3rd force (Null Sector perhaps?)

It's surprising to witness how enthousiastic and positive you are about the new game wow! Refreshing even, especially from an OW1 player ^^. For context: the critics have been so strongly negative that so many old players (and new ones) think they killed the game and messed up at almost every turn. The worst being the battlepass and very greedy system where you've to pay each time to get it each single season with barely enough time to finish it (if you don't play 24/7) or a lot for one single skin/object (and once they're gone, they're gone and you won't ever get them apparently :/). Before, you were able to get things without paying by playing enough (other games have credits in the battlepass to buy the next one and/or lootboxes), now the monetization is so fucked up and ruins the incentives/collections o_o, without talking about the decisions around the solo tank, the imbalanced roster, the bugs, other absurdities and all. The launch has been so bad that all the scores online went down 10% (with terrible reviews). On top, we lost the original game and won't ever be able to play it again :(. The whole development and state of Blizzard itself has been a huuuuge mess (the PvE was supposed to come out first, they worked years on it and it was all rolled back last year to put together and get the PvP out in a hurry before... hence the issues and an unfinished game). Anyway, nothing to do with the video or your reaction to the shorts, just... very surprised and glad that at least some people find it to their liking ^^. Ps: Kiriko is just locked in ranked (unlocked rank 1 with battlepass or 55 without), you can normally play all the actual roster in unranked as an OW1 player :).

The new characters are on the battle pass on the free track. Which means you can still earn them without paying a dime if you just get to the specific level the character at, but if you buy the battle pass, you get them instantly.

Listen again. She played OW1. She's looking forward to unlocking certain characters because she mained them back on OW1 already. Best guess is she played on a friend or partners account or something so had to restart with the NPE, like my wife and son are doing. Once the bugs are taken care of, I think it will be apparent to more and more people that OW2 is, gameplay wise, indeed the superior version of the game.
