Overwatch Storm Rising Gameplay - Overwatch Archives Event 2019

Gameplay from Overwatch: Storm Rising! Playing as Tracer. Overwatch Storm Rising is a new story mission that is part of the Overwatch Archives event that happens every April, along with the Retribution and Uprising missions. In the mission, Tracer, Winston, Genji and Mercy head to Havana, Cuba to capture Maximilien, an Omnic member of Talon.
This is from Normal Mode, so it was pretty easy. Fun though! I recommend giving it a try!
From Overwatch on the PC. The game is also on Xbox One and PS4!

I personally wish that this would be already in the game from the start as a story mode or singleplayer, in would give more reasons to play even more, and tell more story about overwatch. It would be better then having to wait over year to know 5% of the story.

I'm not saying it wouldn't - just being somewhat sceptical about their willingness to come up with anything moderately worthwhile outside of these small side activities semi-related to the so-called lore. Overwatch was designed as a multiplayer game; they sell multiplayer. And it's in Blizzard's best interest, naturally, to promote the part of the game they've been betting on and pouring funds into so far. The engine, being what it is, was created for a specific set of tasks with specific usage scenarios in mind and obviously has its limitations: in no way would a campaign OW engine based game be competitive on the market against full-fledged story titles and as such would prove a senseless waste of precious development time and human resources, scarce and stretched thin as they probably already are. For you, understandably, it's a few hours worth of relative fun shanking brain-dead AI before moving on to something more filling. For the team, it is a major investment, one I don't think they are in a very good spot to make at this time.

Honestly this event would have been MUCH better if they had a genuine BOSS. The re-usage of the mini bosses from Retribution dont work because we know them and they're hardly a threat. This needed that intense last stand feeling of Retribution and the end of Uprising against the Orisa/Bastions. Boring mission this year rip.

The mission is a bit lackluster. It's just Retribution with a payload part. If it was a mission of an actual campaign we would forgive it and not think twice. But the fact that these missions only appear once a year and they add only one can be a bit dissapointing. I dont think Blizzard cares anymore. I bet that once Overwatch get irrelevant, there is only going to be like, five story mode levels. The only thing it has going for is the story itself and its cutscenes. They are well scripted and animated. Each mission gets me more and more invested.

Did they change the Talon agents from human (or maybe cyborg) to just full on omnic? I could’ve sworn they used to be people in armor, in Retribution. Now they all sound like robots, remit clouds of dust instead of red bursts, and headshots take their heads clean off, exposing obvious robotics underneath
