CG. They've got the pipeline for it, they've already made the equivalent of a feature length movie with all these cinematics they've pumped out so far, so it wouldn't really be a far fetched to jump to one. Maybe once all the character introductions are made.

There will never be. Cast is too wide. And if they don't show their mains, people are gonna cry about it. But you can't get 30 mains characters can you? Besides, storytelling-wise, movies are a downgrade. The game allows us to interact with the world and the characters, while a movie just makes us watch. Animated shorts are just the best way to deal with it

Considering Overwatch has no in-game story, I don't see how it would be a downgrade. They could just focus on the core Overwatch team from the old days and their downfall. You've got character arcs, you've got conflict, you've got a setup for a three act structure, you've got a spanking good advertisement for the game, since it would end where Overwatch begins.

What we learn from this D.va isn't as annoyingly arrogant as she is presented in game what the core of the meka unit looks like what some of the more advanced hostile omnics look like D.va in a hat looks uncannily like Brigg D.va has a personal friend in the fixing and repair crew D.va OFFICALLY suffers PTSD :P D.va has been hospitalized before now But still not really much to truly go off of

Yeah not gonna lie but it was kind of a let down compared to other animations because there’s not really a moral in this story. He talks how she can’t do everything alone, but Her version of “help” which is her idea, is having a guy basically hack her mech and even then she explodes in on her own with a gun.

Don't really get the hate. I think the short showed the more serious side of the character. She bears the weight of the nation on her shoulders, which is not shown typically in the game with her cheerful sassy side on full display. Sure the writing of the character is not the best but the short itself isn't bad in the slightest.
