Kiitos oiken paljon! My father would sing my children to sleep with this cadence. He was Swedish/Finn/Lappish and spoke the dialect of Meinkeli of Northern Sweden. Our roots are in Norbottenslan.

Those of you who say that sami and native Americans are the same people forget 1 thing. The languages aren't related. Sami is finno-ugric as well as finnish, estonian, Hungarian and some other smaller languages in Russia, finland and estonia (?). So sami people are from the urals which is still in siberia tho

They are completely separate people who developed their cultures, religions, traditions independent from each other and yet developed so many parallels, which is quite beautiful actually.

Common language root between Sami and American natives could be nostratic Siberia, however. Also Sami people partly descend from western european reindeer hunters. The formation of this nation has been quite complex and multi-layered.

Sami came from the east, and decends from the same people native americans decends from, these people came from Asia. Sami and "europeans" arriwed atleast in Norway at aproximatly the same time. But ofcourse no one realy knows for sure. pardon my writing.

im sami and we dont herritage from the "native americans" native americans herritage is from asia, samer(as we say in sweden) came to the north from the east around 5000 to 8000 years ago, sami excist in sweden,norway,finland and russian half island Kola Bay. the native americans and sami may herritage from the same people but sami dosent herritage from native americans
