I usually get that sharp pain in my sides mid month and it's excruciating for about two to three hours and I was told that it was a sign am ovulating.

I've always though that the day of ovulation was the day the temperature went up, and so I've been aiming for just the day before or the day that happens, which is probably too late to catch the egg since the temperature rises about 3 days post ovulation. Sounds like you are ovulating but it may not be regular or ideal. Would consider seeing if you have a thyroid issue or PCOS

Egg white mucous. I wasn’t imbalanced in hormones through college (18-22 yrs old) didn’t have and signs of ovulation and I was on BC lo loestrin fe, for 6 yrs. After my two little ones, ages 7 and 4; periods aren’t painful, light flows, and regular cycle when I’m NOT stressed out 😂 I consistently have white egg like discharge now around ovulation . Then day 6 it’s watery and isn’t slimy like egg. I also get pure nausea and ovulation cramps, that feel like a snap of rubber and in my uterus 😮

I'm a little confused about BBT tracking. Are you saying your temperature doesn't rise until 3 days after you ovulated? From what I thought I understood, you can confirm that you ovulated if your chart shows 3 consecutive days of sustained temperature rise, but that you actually ovulated the day before the temperature shift. Or do you ovulate 3 days before the first temp rise? Thanks for all your great content!

I used to always feel when I ovulated. But for my last two periods I haven’t felt that pain on either sides like usual. I also usually have intense period cramps as well. My last period was very easy. Like I still had cramps but they weren’t noticeable at all. My periods still come on time like usual tho. Is that bad? I know cycles tend to change month to month but is this something I should be concerned about?

Prolactin is the breastfeeding hormone and prolactin can inhibit progesterone which is especially important for pregnancy. You should check these levels with your doctor. Hope this helps

arousal fluid usually dries on the fingers, whereas egg-white cervical mucus usually stays on your fingers until you wash it off. Hope that helps

@@rachelsleppy I'm definitely not the right person to ask, but I just listened to a podcast today that said a regular period is one that comes within a few days of when you expect it to, and has regular flow (if it's super light you may not be shedding your lining correctly, and super heavy could mean other issues). And it sounds like there's a range of what's normal in terms of the days between when it comes, but again I really have no idea.

How does a hormonal iud (levonorgestrel) impact the regularity and effcacy of ovulation and overall cycle? E.g.: • does the mucus still cycle the same way if you have a iud? • can a iud explain irregular-ish cycles? In my case length varies 5-10 days from month to month, but it's always 25-37 days long, and i don't know if this was the case before i started with iuds? I use the free Clue app to track my cycle and it is generally 27 days but can be as short as 24 or as long as 29 days. My cycle length has decreased from 5-7 days as a teenager to 3-4 days now. When I was long-distance hiking it was only 2 days! I guess length is my main concern currently!

I'm really feeling lost. I've been trying for over 8 months, I can predict my periods with high accuracy. maybe 1 to max 2 days off. periods last on average 5-6 days. I've never taken birth control and I am 30 yrs old. I am slightly overweight but I am making changes to eat well and work out. When I take Ovulation strips I do see higher levels of LH but I don't know if there's a high enough spike. Is it likely my estrogen levels are causing the issues? Cervical Mucus seems quite normal as well.

No, your ovaries still produce follicles when on the pill, they're just prevented from maturing and die off.

I've heard some doctors say you have more eggs when on contraception. Basically not as many eggs are lost every month compared to not being on contraception. But you're still losing eggs.

I was on BC pills for 27.5 yrs, got off in JAN 2023, periods are still not regular. Age 46 and bought the ovulation test kit for when they do become regular. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is there a way to know if the dominant follicle that burst actually had a mature egg in it, or if it was empty? I use the home kit and also had my ovulations confirmed with ultrasoung many times. So I know I ovulate regularly. My doctor said that the follicle might be empty though and that could be one reason for not getting pregnant.

I understand many other factors are needed more than just ovulating. If you ovulate, great start, but I would check other things too. That month the egg, the endometrium and other hormones must be on point.

@@mariana88881 the only thing they can’t test is the egg itself (because we’re not doing IVF yet), but everything else seems to be totally normal, hormones, endometrium, etc.

Thank you for this! I’ve been to my doctor 3 times this year for multiple concerns. I was told if I get a period that means I ovulated but my cycles are between 29-53 days and heavy clots. I spent 13 years being dismissed by both my obgyn and my gp, yes - get a second and third opinion. The quality of your life could be impacted and you don't even know it, but to mention years and years of your fertile window will deplete. I'm now just starting with a fertility clinic at 34.5 to see what's going on... SMH. But yes, please get other opinions.

I’m confused. I have been using the LH OPK strips that come in a box the Easy Home brand (popular on Amazon). LH line has gradually gotten darker and the app tells me the results are high. The line is dark almost matching the other line. I’ve had cervical mucus for a week now. I have some pain in left side (typical mid-cycle pain) but I took the Clear Blue digital test and got no smiley face and the result showed low fertility. My fertility Dr said this test is more accurate. But why would I have two tests showing two different things? I’m feeling discouraged. I had a miscarriage in November and didn’t get my first period back until last month. I thought I was very fertile from all the cervical mucus and increase in libido during that time, had inter course that entire week but no pregnancy. I’m almost 40. Feeling the pressure.

I don't like clearblue ovulation tests because you can't see good the lines and you don't know the peak, you can get a smiley and have it high for example.

I can pin point my cycle and use to pin point and know when I ovulated. TMI but discharge was a big one. Copious amount of egg white discharge at ovulation. That discharge has decreased the pass couple years. I still have the discharge at ovulation but it’s minimal. Could this be the issue I’m having with conceiving a second baby. We have been trying for almost a year. So we will be seeking help the beginning of the year. I am 33 and conceived my first child on the first attempt. So I was spoiled with no wait.
