I don't always love them as a couple(Own is awful) but I loved this proposal. It isn't just that they love snow it is that snow is intimately tied to their love story. When Teddy first appears in season 6, Cristina realizes/suspects that Teddy has feelings for Owen when she shares a story about how he used a snow machine in Iraq to make in snow for "his guys/troops" who were missing home on Christmas. Years later when Owen shows up in Germany(post Amelia separation) and declares his feelings they are together for the first time(and conceive their daughter), it snows. And most importantly, when they have that epic painful fight the night day due to their huge amount of issues(including Owen sleeping with Amelia and going to Teddy a day later), Owen tries to reassure Teddy of his love when he tells her that he didn't make it snow for their squadron he had made it snow for her because he knew how much she loved it. The implication being that even though he was still with his fiancee Beth at the time, he was in love with Teddy. This was them coming full circle. Again, here he makes it snow "for her"

Sometimes people dont really understand their relationship. That's why i loved the line "We may not make sense to the world but we make sense to us". Their relationship it's (very) complicated and beautiful bc they're complicated characters. Both of them have so many things in common that escape their previous partners. Teddy understood when Owen was triggered and had anxierty (and PTSD) and Owen understood that Teddy's PSTD manifested in such a self destructive way. (there was a whole episode explaining that but i guess it's too much for some). That's why he was able to forgive the cheating, bc he had those moments of "doing unimaginable things" too. Also, people forget that Owen went to two different types of therapies through out the show to help him deal with his own issues. I always laugh when i read "he would choose other woman rather than teddy" when in reality, there's also a whole speech why he didn't picked Teddy back in s06 (when he ALSO had feelings for her) and back in s06 he struggled so much with his PTSD. Meredith and Richard are two characters that, since the beginning, understood that Teddy and Owen's connection was special and unbreakable. Hopefully now that both of them have dealt with their own trauma, can be happy together. :)
