My brother, Your exposė on Owerri is very reassuring. I am very happy that people like you are showcasing our strengths and beauty. We have people in different parts of the world who have not been home in years and they are there talking crap. I live in the US but have long become part of this development

This estate is too beautiful. It will give any estate in Abuja and Lagos a run for its money!
@ifeanyipaschal26147 ай бұрын
You probably don't live in Abuja or Lagos. That estate just has fine houses without proper planning...you need to visit a typical estate in Lekki to see the difference.

Building houses is cool but it's not development. Good roads, eletricity, good schools, hospital system, water, security etc . The basics that make any society work. Big houses and bad infrastructures is sign of misplaced priority and greed. The rich in Nigeria don't even live like the working class in the west.
@kennethdavid11074 жыл бұрын
I know this area very well, my house is behind this estate, it's close to new Owerri, or I should call it part of new Owerri, I just came back to Europe before the corona virus pandemic 😷 started, Owerri is more or less a construction site now, fastest growing city behind Abuja and Lagos, even the cars young guys are driving in Owerri is something else, Owerri is growing very rapidly but individually driven I believe, mostly Imolites and some other Igbo men with business interest in the city, if you are into building you will never run out of job in Owerri and recently too many yorobas because people recommend them for roofing job and many Togolese, Guineans, Cameroonians who are into plastering and tiling, you will see them in every construction site in Owerri,

Owerri is indeed the Las Vegas of Nigeria when it comes to number of quality hotels for the size of the city. And the high brow areas have tastefully finished mansions. Igbos have taste sha. Once the current administration is able to turn around the city's roads and public areas, the city will be really nice.

Houses are beautiful, but public spaces are dirty and lack maintenance. The roads are narrow, drainage are open, no sidewalks. This is the problem with many cities in Eastern Nigeria. Go back to this same estate in 5 years and you will be disgusted.

@chukschuks50694 жыл бұрын
good, but the perfectionist in me says the roads could be much better: neater, devoid of sand/sediments, and with sidewalks and trees. but good effort all the same on the part of the individual plot owners......not so much the state gov't or whoever is in charge of building/maintaining the internal roads. we need to strive for excellence in all we do.

@chukschuks50694 жыл бұрын
EJIKE ENWEREM all streets (estate, inner city or major) where people walk to and from homes, shops and offices are supposed to have sidewalks for pedestrians! It’s only interstate, intercity or expressways that can do without this, even though they’re meant to have lay-bys and hard shoulders where vehicles can pullover to stop/park in emergencies.

Please brethren, the almost empty huge houses has naturally blinded you and some of the viewers of the gutters lined the your so called heaven. Gutters in 2020 Nigeria. Note the difference between I have money and I have standard. This video shows that the standard is not homogeneous to how “we live mindset”. you can’t make gutters amongst mansions, neither are there open green parks for the inhabitants of that area.
