12HT is my first wheel. Took about 3 weeks riding on a grass field before I was comfortable on pavement. 800 miles later it’s my daily commuter, rain or shine. It’s got plenty of go, and is the largest wheel I can carry one handed up the stairs in Penn Station and my front porch.

65 lbs of starter wheel seems cumbersome. The InMotion V8S or King Song 16X are wheels 20 or more pounds lighter than the 12HT.

I bought V12HT this summer as my 3rd wheel. It is awesome wheel. So far 2000km on the clock. Great acceleration and breaking (with power pads) and very practical. Great and durable tire. Built quality is awesome, I droped it to 2m concrete hole and just minor scratches. Great wheel for sure, I have no need for anything better :-)

I am now hitting the 1st anniversary of EUC, with my V12 crossing over 2,000 miles. It's been an amazing wheel. I have had no problems with it on either the older or newer boards, and it continues to be a great winter commuting wheel. I do think where will be a branch of EUC purists; riding wheels with no suspension or pads to get that triad of speed, agility and experience between a second triad of wheel, rider and environment. Much like bike messengers ride fixie bicycles through the streets of New York, and equestrians riding bareback instead of full western tack on their horses. I value these reviews, because they take place in a large city with heavy mixed traffic - the ultimate test of a wheel's worth to those who believe that this is the transportation of the future.

As an Inmotion V12HS owner riding on the mosfets that are suspect I have a blast everytime I ride. 360 plus miles on it and feeling confident everytime I do. I have the new "black" motherboard ready to install. It's the same as the V12HT. @@timucinpusat3518 suspension is definitely nice to have for those, 100%. But it is not absolutely essential. The strong case for not starting on a suspension wheel is that you learn better riding habits and skills to navigate those challenges safely, then can upgrade to suspension and be well-rounded and more capable. Someone who has only had the suspension will likely not ride the same way as someone who has experience without, which can sometimes result in problems. (Suspension can only do so much for you; in the end it comes down to your knees/posture, and avoiding problems altogether, I think.) Take my opinion with a grain of salt though; I have not yet had the luxury of using a suspension wheel.

@@timucinpusat3518 Not really. I dont go up curbs with it. I go off curbs though, nothing higher as I want to try to make it last. If your knees are good should be no problem. If you want to go faster than 45 kph and ride on the street alot, then you'll probably want to go for a faster suspension wheel... Or if your going to do lot's of off-roading. I like riding quick but I'm riding mostly smooth asphalt trails. Also, to me, geared up or not I don't like going above 45 kph on my V12 or 55kph on my Master, just feels too sketchy. Honestly, as a skier, I really enjoy non-suspension EUCs because it makes you feel the actual ground, and use your knees as you would when skiing in normal or rude conditions. Suspensions are awesome for smooth long rides, but when it comes to sporty rides, you can get awesome experiences within the range of 20-30 km/h with standards EUC. Its more raw, bare, "Hi-Fi".

You did it again. You found what others have not been able to. Many riders do prefer a non suspension wheels. Not just because that space can be used by more battery cells or their responsiveness but because they are way more simple to maintain. Suspension EUC are great but not without compromises. Each mechanic and moving part needs to be kept in good shape. While something like this beast, is simply to recharge and enjoy. I would not recommend it for a beginner (too fast for that) but its enforced rim may help on that period since it is when we tend to bump them more. What about your tire pressure vs weight? it is perhaps the most important setting of this model. That Cordial tire has to be used at very low pressure compared to other tires, bringing a more pleasant and still safer experience. Great video, you are nuts in NY. Please stay safe. 🤣

I started to ride two and a half years ago with a V8f. I’m glad I did, it’s been a great wheel to learn on and very reliable. I’m amazed that in about one year only, the V12 series has gone from being the biggest, heaviest and most powerful INMOTION wheel…to a starter wheel ? I would have thought it was a bit of a heavy wheel to start on…unless you are a large 250 lbs guy. As for suspension, I’m not sure it’s quite there yet. Most systems are pretty primitive and more weight ( again! …..and more weight always means less practicality). On the V11 the suspension is no more than a sprung seat on an old tractor…the entire wheel is un sprung weight! That said, in a couple of years if there is a V12 size and weight wheel with decent suspension, I’d be interested.

Seems I remember going through some of these same evolutions with Mtn. Biking. There's always the crowd, generally willing to spend a bunch of cash and say that if you aren't riding the latest tech. Then you are falling behind. I never had a full suspension bike that I felt as comfortable at high speed as on a couple of Hard tail bikes. Really once you learn to adapt to what you are riding then go have a good time. Spend money wisely because more cash won't make you any better of a rider but as you touched on, sometimes riding with less tech can make you a better rider.

Still riding' my ks18xl and happy about it. Got myself a Sherman Max (also non suspension wheel) tried it for a week or so - it sucks in terms of comfort and everyday usability compared to my Kingsong wheel. Sold it back without regrets. Suspension wheels are heavy + require maintenance, but most important, they're uncomfortable to use, as all suspension models so far have a bad trolley handle, big weight (or tiny battery, like S18, that is unusable).

Saw how you recommended starter EUC's like the V8 to the V8S and I was dead set on eventually getting the V8S. But these rides are upgrading constantly. I saw some getting the V11 as their starter and thought okay, maybe I should up my game a bit. V12HT is my first wheel and 250 miles in, and its been a blast. I picked it up because I wanted something I learn on and also use for a while, so far I think it'll work well for that. It would be nice if it was a bit faster, since the people I ride with all have higher end wheels, but thats more on the people I ride with than the wheel. It has been able to keep up on both nice smooth trails as well as off road tracks with way more experienced riders. I know I'll eventually upgrade but for right now it checks all the boxes and I'll probably start using it to commute to work on the days I don't need my truck.

A starter wheel is a cheap used wheel. Like a Ninebot one. Why? First if all many people don't even learn to ride. They either mistakenly think it's impossible for them to learn or they simply lose interest if it takes to much time. So it's better to try on a cheap used wheel. Second, learning will damage a wheel. Third, while learning and riding one can see how they will personally use and enjoy a wheel. That is info they need about what wheel will actually be most useful in their situation. Then you know what kind of wheel you would use and want to buy. I also think that such a powerful wheel doesn't learn you to really get the most out of all power available. Learning on a weak wheel will teach how to handle limitations. A good skill to have.

Interesting that the V12 was quickly forgiven for its cut outs, but the the Abrams is ostracised. I guess Inmotion got the problem isolated, explained it, fixed quickly and got the PR around it right. Whereas Leaperkim went through denial then firmware, whereas there seem to be 3 problems - dodgy firmware, bad motors, bad bearings and bad hall sensors. I believe there a few good abrams out there and hope mine is one (I'll never really know?) - shops dealt with it by shifting all stock by doing 2/3rds prices and I fell for that. Now it will be my training/bash around wheel, until I save for a v12 or v13....

I've ordered a V12HT and it is on the way. My NyloNove pedals and Grizzla Flow Compact pads have already arrived. This will be my more compact wheel for when my Sherman S (also on the way) is too big/heavy for what I'm wanting. Longer range and higher speeds will be done with the Sherman S where the comfort of suspension will be more important. The torque of the V12HT should be fun to experience.

You can set warning speed on most wheels and it was prob set too low for me. Warning beeps is really only there to tell you how fast ur going and when maxed out (wasn't on that S22) safeguard for cut out, out of the 3 I think the S22 was actually a lot closer to the Sherman s when it comes to the fun factor, only down side was the range for that wheel

From my mtb background, I enjoy swapping between full suspension and hard tail bikes, I like both of them. The hardtail weighs nothing in comaparison and makes me focus a bit more and I can't go as fast. It seems to be the same with these wheels - more complexity and weight vs lighter weight, nimbleness and a necessary focus on line choice.

I actually was concerned for awhile because I'd developed a strange riding position with my left foot towards the outside of the pedal at about a 40 degree angle pointed left, and my right foot hugging the wheel at maybe 25 degrees.. also to the left. Mind you I think alot of this is to do with train tracking on our mostly all slanted roads and I'm on an mten4 with a knobby :/ I feel very stable and with some practice I can face my feet the opposite way. It actually makes turning really easy and the putter foot acts like a stator while the inner foot gripping the wheel does the turning. Maybe its weird but it works for me.

S22 suspension has many complaints and they're working on a fix for the next batch. T4 sounds like a fun wheel but not built for safety or practicality. V11 design is already outdated. Veteran Sherman S and V13 are not easily available, and too heavy / expensive for a starter wheel. Suspension wheels market is still in its infancy. I learned on the V12HT and I don't regret it. It'll make me a better rider even when I eventually get suspension.

@@EdLrandom Thank you, man. Did you heard something about a second batch of V12 HS, that comes from factory with the new stronger mosfets board (like the HT) AND the same improved rim (not orange) like the HT? Also, do you know the name of the cells used in the batteries of V12 HS/HT? For the Master we know for sure that we have Samsung 50E, which are better, more stable than LGs. I think Inmotion cut corners with the cells used, hence so many problems reported by users on KZbin, mixed with favorable reports. Maybe Inmotion is not consistent in the cells used and keep it all quiet.
@EdLrandom
@EdLrandom Жыл бұрын
@@danmano478 IDK about the rim, but my v12 is one either with a replaced motherboard or a new batch, I don't remember. It's around 4k km on it and I never had a cutoff, I know early v12hs issues were specifically low-speed over-torque cutoffs, but I think it's fixed. It does look like in motion uses LG cells, but one thing is for sure in motion software is great at detecting overloads, instead of burning MOSFETs like kingsong, inmotion v12 tells me to get off when I'm over-torquing it at 45degree hills, then in 5 min it lets me ride again... I prefer that cause I blew MOSFETs on ks16x when offroading twice. Though I doubt I'll be able to overpower the 50e master. I'm glad samsung cells are better, I'm a little afraid of begode fires.
