my mum doesn't need to imagine. once she accidentally hit an owl so her friend got out to put it out of its misery (it was really badly hurt) and he spun its head 360 and it kind of looked at him like "wtf mate..." so he kept spinning it and he spun it like 20 times and then the head popped off. thank goodness I wasn't alive I would've sat and sobbed over that owl XD

They can turn their heads 270 degrees in either direction. That means they have a full turning range of 540. It looks like an owl's head is turning 360 degrees, when actually it goes from 90 degrees in one direction to 270 in the other or 180 in one direction to 180 in the other.

Just in case anyone is wondering, Owls can spin their heads around like that and also like a wheel because they have eyes that are too big for their eye sockets. This is because they are nocturnal and allows them to see better in the dark however prevents any ocular mobility. Ergo, they can spin their head in exorcist like ways. Natures Evolutionary compensation. I love owls :)
