I agree wholeheartedly. I understand the owlbear can’t live in a city, he would scare the commoners. So it’s ok for me, still Shadowheart was always my bestie in my play throughs, so it kinda stays in the family and i could visit them But simply giving Scratch a new owner? This may be happy for him. But what of our player characters. After all they have been through, they deserve a chance. I can’t imagine a better emotional support dog than Scratch. Especially in my Gale romanced play through, it would have been also cute to see him and Tara together. But this is just so loveless of the developers I will never forgive Larian - until they at least give us an option to adopt Scratch

Lmao ik right. I have a DRUID , neutral alignment with good lean. Partnered with Astarion. She would 100% make him let her keep them. If he tried to say no she would argue the owl bear would make for a good bouncer and deterrent at the front door lol. If he wants her happy and not upset he'd cave. Plus it's been proven he cares for both animals he mourns scratch if he dies and he approves of the owl bear rescued at camp .

Here's what I think happen, rolls a critical 20 to drag it by the tentacle with his beak onto dry land and another 20 to have a fighting chance. All while the kraken kept rolling a 1 or low number.

Well it happened after the kraken ate his Cat friend. No way that Cat was swimming, so the Kraken obviously was on a shoreline and tentacle-grabbed the feline. So this battle at most takes place on half land half water, with the owlbear also having heavy and quite possibly enchanted armor as well as a "turtle" friend, who may or may not be a dragon turtle.

The "Friend" line will always makes my heart melt. I'm so proud my little baby owlbear is now all fully grown up and went on to an adventure on his own. Now I understand how a father feels proud to their child.

I like that shadowheart keeps the owlbear. it makes me so happy that the owlbear has someone to look after him. im okay with her keeping him since he would be happier surrounded by a bunch of other wild animals. Shadowheart seems so happy with all her animals so i love this ending for her. she was always so serious or sad. its nice to see her excited. HOWEVER, it is UNACCEPTABLE that scratch is not living with me and astarion. like how is astarion even coping without his best boy?? unthinkable.

@@Sigismund-von-Luxembourg in caring for animals? yes absolutely. the man is nature personified. but that doesn't mean no one else should be raising animals but him. its not like Shadowheart is incompetent. She clearly has a genuine interest and she loves them so much. If Halsin's kids want an Owlbear im sure he can turn into one for them lol Shadowheart has one shot to raise an Owlbear and ill be damned if i take that from her. she was so happy!

I too was confused and disappointed that Scratch did not remain my dog. I can accept the Owlbear living with Shadowheart or Halsin, but not Scratch. It does not make any sense that Scratch would find a new "owner" unless I neglected him. But I didn't. I lost count of how many times I petted that dog during Camp rest breaks. I demand another "happier" ending with Scratch. That and allowing your character (if she is female) to arrive at the party with a baby bump if she ends up marrying Gale.

Kinda wish they just sized him up over the three acts. Idk if there's a D&D maturation speed on the books, but if BG3 took 4 months as one dialogue piece alludes to, I think an owlbear could size up considerably when well fed.

My first playthrough I romanced Shadowheart and we got to take care of the owlbear… I’m sad that the owlbear only lives with Shadowheart or Halsin, rather than us. I wish you could have the option to take in Scratch, the Owlbear, and maybe a cat you find on your adventures to have the perfect little family

There's a spell you can learn to talk to animals! If you're playing a class that can learn spells :)
