Some people say it has "incomplete charcter arcs" I dont know but this is a deal breaker for me if it is true any thoughts could really use your opinion

The star for me is the actual gameplay more than anything. If the characters didn't speak (which one actually doesn't) and there wasn't even a story this game would still shine. From the great control scheme to the open adventure exploration, satisfying puzzles and boss fights. This is a very well rounded game and worth every penny. Happy Gaming!!

Juan, I've been enjoying Celeste. I know when you give a game a 9 or more, I better check it out. Owlboy looks like a beautiful game. I don't know if the play style interests me that much to purchase however.

Pezmed yea I felt this one was really good but just didn't quite hit the heights Celeste did. Hard to compare as the games are quite different. Also it's difficult as my enthusiasm after the 12th restart in 4 hours had me losing a little of my enthusiasm. Hard to predict what a game will be like after a patch. I can only review what I have in front of me. The constant crashes were a pain. While the devs have promised this will be fixed, the review copies just had constant issues. While this may not be a problem tomorrow for buyers it was for me. So tried to put that out of my head and concentrate on the game itself. It's a quality title as I say but just a few little niggles taking it away from getting a 9 or above for me. I would still check it out though as for me an 8.5 is still a very good quality title. Yesterday i was going to get either Celeste or Owlboy, (dont judge me on my choice). I chose Owlboy. Because celeste isnt really my kind of game. I really love some of the quirky lines in this game. They usually always put a smile on my face. Also, Otus' expressions are pretty funny. And what i like is that when you enter a certain area, Otus will have a certain animation with walking, and he wont be able to fly. (Ex. Graveyard). And this game can get you in the feels, sometimes. I remember in the start of the game, Otus is walking through a field of some sort, and the background is just dark black. You start walking forward, and you see a dark figure. It basically says "No one likes you" Or "No one believes in you." And then the figures start circling around you, and Otus is just.. Frightened. I really love this game. Its awesome.

Either game you would have made a great choice. I loved this game and still play it when I can.

Heya! Just wanted to say, while perhaps Celeste might not seem like your type of game initially, especially if you like character development and imagery along with symbolism, and even quirky lines from time to time. I heavily recommend you get it when you can. Games that are like Celeste, which I compare more to Super Meat Boy, are also generally not my type of game, but the themes of the game, as well as the forgiving yet still challenging aspects of the game kept me coming back. Yes, it's one of those games where the theme is very tied into what you're doing gameplay-wise, and inspires you on your journey. It's like no game I've ever played before, I've only seen games try to pull of moments like that in the past, but this game was like this all throughout. Give it a try, it'll be worth your time for sure.

Fantastic review as always, mate. You covered pretty much everything as you do all times. This is one that I was really waiting for, one of the best Indies out there. Amazing story but most of all great characterization. Celeste Dandara and this one are a must for switch.

Great vid, but I think reviews should have more evaluation, criticism and less spoilers. I really would like it better if you hadn’t spoiled the roster for example. Instead tell me how is the pacing of unlocking and how useful are the characters.

okguzelce fair enough critique buddy. Appreciate it. Will take it on board for the next one. I would say though that reviews to some extent will always have spoilers in some form or another. We try our best but again you never know exactly how deep to go with it without spoiling. What spoils for one won't for another so it's always pretty tough to balance, we also critique each section.

Visión de Todo probably say that's maybe not going to happen. Nintendo are one of the only Publishers/Developers we don't hear from even though we have tried. Just not big enough 😣 I will buy the game but any review will be a few days after release I would suspect unless a miracle happens lol. I think Jordan really wants to do it even though I have the Amiibos 🤣

Overall I like what you had to say about this game but you have to work on your provided gameplay you provide, you show later game spoilers and a lot you do in the review gameplay doesn't seem inviting, even though the gameplay is, like you say, totally satisfying. For example you showed scenes where you went in the wrong directions and scenes where you tried to burn where this ability thing doesn't work. And you also didn't update your health bar till late in the game, what have you done while your playthrough? Otherwise great review, keep it on!:)

A lot happened in the development cycle. Things went wrong life gets in the way and all that. Takes a lot of time and quite a bit of money I suppose so it can be difficult to make these games a reality for Indie Devs.
