From the comments, it seems the noise I was encountering is a common issue. Since the noise went away by itself on my unit, I don't know exactly where it came from. If you're getting that noise, here are a couple things you should try first before you go replacing parts: 1) adjust the truck nut, 2) adjust the wheel nut for each wheel, 3) check and clean the bearings. Thanks to everyone who left suggestions! Also, I've now fixed that audio distortion issue. It was indeed caused by the firmware update so I reverted to an older version and now the audio is fine again. Next video will sound better!

I had the same noise from my front wheels on my C1S. I loosened the wheel nut slightly and it went away. 👍🏻

my v2p make a similar noise also from the hub motors. i contacted them, and they said it was a normal sound. I am pretty sure that it's the metal inside the swapable urethane that is hitting the metal of the hub motors.

Jonas Buchholz It's interesting that we both have the same issue. I thought the same exact thing as you, so I swapped the PU covers and made sure they fitted as tight as possible. No change in sound though after doing that. I hope they are correct. At least they got back to you - it's been a week since I sent them a link to a video I made of the noise and still no response from them yet. I still ride the board, but am a bit concerned with my safety. I sure don't ride it as fast as when I first got it for this reason. Let me know if anything changes with yours.

I thought about getting a dual hub motor electric skateboard with standard battery capacity as I would like to be able to easily use it if the battery runs out and be able to take it on the airplane when traveling. Would you suggest the Meepo mini 2 or the Ownboard Mini KT ? I read you feel a lot of annoying vibrations with meepo mini 2 when the road is not so smooth, is it the same with the Ownboard mini kt? I had the same issue on my ownboard parts, fixed it by replacing the front truck (and bearings)

Question: can you ride the Ownboard pedaling with your feet? Is that an option?

I don’t usually use a gimbal. In this one I used the camera’s digital stabilization.

It would feel more like the WowGo but I don't know if their ESCs are tuned the same way. Yes same remote as what WowGo uses.

I just bought this ownboard mini and I’m completely new to skateboarding. My first impression and struggle is with the sudden jerks, accelerating and braking. How do I get better at absorbing the jerks? I noticed the board could be more stable, do I need to tighten the trucks out of the box?

Av B Keep your center of gravity low by keeping your knees bent. Adjust your weight forward and back similar to standing in a bus - forward when accelerating, back when braking. Not sure how tight the trucks are out of the box but most of the time they’re more on the tight side. Take it slow, don’t try to go fast yet. Gonna take some time. Protective gear will speed up learning because they help remove fear of injury.

I bet it's the front screw leans too close to the bearing cover. Did you loosen the nut? The factories always tighten them to the max.

I loosened it at first, and then I tightened it again. Maybe that was why.

Cool vid. I have the stay stoked version. I weigh 205 pounds and no issues. I have the Sanyo battery. I agree it is tall. I do not have that sound. I was able to ollie on it and get a fakie shuvit too. You really need to lean foward when breaking at high speeds. The kick tail is what makes this board the best board i think. You are not a poser, haha. As long as you are skating that is all that matters.

I'm an old school skater and I'm undecided between the backfire G2s and Ownboard mini because he has the kicktail and "I think" I find myself better than a longboard. Have you ever tried Ownboard mini? What do you think about it? Thanks in advance

The rattle could be the front pivot cup bushing....its a fault they have. Mine has it too..I'm gonna replace the front trucks.

Does this ticket has a negative impact on your social credit score? Do you even have it already in whole china? Here in germany, we read lots of bad stuff about the social credit system in the press. Can you tell us something about that (maybe in a video)?

Chattrick - I actually misspoke in the video. I was fined but not ticketed. As for that social credit score thing, I haven’t heard much about it. Not sure if it would even apply to me since I’m not a Chinese citizen, though we foreigners already get some sort of scoring for visa purposes.

Great video! Sorry, can you tell me the difference with the RS V.1.0 model? Would it be possible to change the wheels with a larger diameter? Last question: between Ownboard Mini KT and Backfire G2S, what would you recommend to me? I live in Milan in Italy, the streets are not as beautiful as you! Thanks in advance

My understanding is RS and Mini KT are the same, just different color wheels and grip tape. I don't think larger diameter wheels are available but I haven't really been keeping up to date. If your streets aren't smooth I think a longer length board would generally be better than a shorter one.

How and when are you suppose to charge this? Do you have to drain the battery? Or can you charge anytime just don't charge over night?

Generally, try to keep the charge above 0% and below 100%. Same for any Li-ion battery.

great video again. best solve for the audio is a zoom h1 (400rmb) and a alav lavalier mic with a deadcat. clap after you record on the cameras external audio while the zoom is recording. then afterwards import both files into 'pluraleyes' and it will sync audio and give you an xml file for premier pro. super ez

I start and stop the recording like around 30 times during my ride. 😕

thats no problem, just put in a 32 gb card in the zoom and leave it running. it can record for many hours. just every time you turn on your camera do a unique sound, like a whistle, or a whoop or double whoop. and pluraleyes will colate and clip everything. no joke it solves all audio probs, just throw the xml file into your timeline and everything is right there for fine edit.

try it out just to see if it is something that might save you headaches. best test is to use your camera normally for maybe 10 clips or so (just a test) then use your phone as an audio recorder (with lav is best + deadcat but unnecessary for the trial) then download pluraleyes (piratebay or buy), import all clips vid and audio from all sources, and select merge and have it auto delete the camera audio. it will merge everything, and you will see the clip/s with audio. export to xml, then import into your editors timeline. sounds complicated but it isn't. saves tons of time and gets awesome audio.

Hey thanks for the tips. Didn't know about pluraleyes before, that'll come in handy. I have a lav mic and a Tascam DR-05 but I don't really like using lavs. I ended up downgrading the camera firmware to fix the issue. All good now!

If you have no experience I think you’d be better off with an electric longboard, unless you really need the smaller size. I don’t really have a preference for short boards. They’re all scary to me haha.

simon malouf no. If you want to try and skate an eboard like that try a lou3.0. But that's a small board but it's the only eboard I know that you can really do trick with.

Stand the board up and try moving the wheels with your hands from side to side to see if you get a clicking noise from the kingpin not fitting in the cup correctly.

About the same. Same wheelbase, same or similar wheels. If you prefer a wider deck then Ownboard Mini may be more comfortable.

I think this is a nice size, the KT let me feel more in control of the board and the small size would allow me to run on walkways and avoid obstacles quite fast... the downside is of course stability at high speeds, what's your experience on this point with this board?

i got a wowgo min with a sanyo and i can assure you its worth the money! especially if you want to ride at top speed most of the time. also li-ion batteries last way longer if you always keep them charged between 40-80%. so choose a battery that can take your commutes with ease

The Samsung 30Q cells have been shown to have less voltage sag than the Sanyo, so there's no point in getting the Sanyo unless you need every bit of that range.

i ride my mini every day to get to work, about 9 km one way, so 18 to 20 km a day depending on my route. determined by the temperature outisde you use about 35-50% of the battery. where ever i can, i ride at top speed. i couldnt detect a noticeable voltage sag yet ! top speed stays the same all the time . this may change as the battery ages.

That’s messed up. In KC, MO area U.S. we don’t get ticketed like that. Most of the time the officers don’t care because a lot of people push their luck, they’re just happy we’re minding our own. On top of the police being happy we aren’t committing crimes. Unless there are city codes saying you can’t, there’s nothing they can do. So long as your riding safely. They view it as a form of transportation of the same level as bikes. They even have services like bird where they drop off random gps tracked scooters for people to ride in town. The only time I was stopped was when I was like 12 and had this 350w chain drive scooter. He tried to say it was illegal and I didn’t know any better. Turns out it is legal, but at the end of the day I figure he was probably more concerned about the way I was riding. Y’know, how kids treat things in general.
