Great review! Ground clearance seems to be much better than with the Meepo Hurricane, correct? I want to ride mainly smaller diam. wheels such as the clouds. Too bad the Ownboard is much more expensive to me in Germany due to import tax (Meepo seems to work with EU warehouses)

Nice video. This board is amazing. I just got mine yesterday and rode it 45 miles 😁 I rode about 30 miles on 120 clouds and then switched to 105 clouds. I definitely prefer the 105s 👌🤙

Great video! I'm dropping the hammer this Friday on KZbin payday but I'm still a bit undecided on which model to get. It's going to be the Zeus Pro carbon with the bigger battery (936wh) or the newer Zeus Bamboo pro with the monster battery. I'm an older rider (50 now) that's been riding for about 3 years and absolutely love it. I like to go straight and fast and basically use my board for everything in nicer weather. Bank, post office, dr appt, etc... I like the looks of the carbon a lot more but that 1170wh battery on the bamboo is nice. I'm an old washed up powerlifter as well. So about 205lbs. I've been riding my two Backfire Zealot S boards for the past 3 years. Any advice please?

I'm new to all of these and so I wanted to a couple of things: 1) Is a bamboo board deck better? What is the difference or uses? 2) I saw that the Meepo boards turn on immediately when you ride them, how does this board work? In the case of only being able to turn it on with a button, how accesible is it?

1. What the deck is made of is dependant on you, nothing is necessarily better. Bamboo is a more flexible springy feel, that also depends on how the electronics enclosure is designed. If you are going to top speed, a rigid deck is better (usually carbon fiber). 2. There's pretty much 2 ESC (computer that handles acceleration and breaking curve, electric speed controller) brands that are used in these things. The one the Zeus uses doesn't have push to start, there's a button on the board. Although, if you've had the board turned on within 48 hours (I think), turning on the controller also turns on the board

@@esk8unity I already have a WowGo 2S Pro, so I can afford to wait. However, I just pulled the trigger on the Tynee Explorer, due to its price, included cloudwheels and the IP67 rating (12 months warranty). Right now a new a better board seems to come out every other month.

thank u! and great question. BOTH are AWESOME. i promise u wont make a bad decision.. Pivot has about 20% more performance. but the zeus has a LITTLE more range. i also like the trucks a lot better on the zeus. BOTH decks are great, but id choose the deck on the zeus . if a board has a great deck and trucks, range and performance really comes second to me. However that might not be the same for you. if ya want performance and great customer service, choose propel pivot gt. if u want a littttle more range and tkp trucks, go zeus pro. lastly, im dropping a zeus MAX video next week. maybe wait for that one 😉

The Pivot GT appears to be the best value board right now. Under $1k before tax and shipping.

@@esk8unity I’m only just realizing how much lighter the S version is than the Pivot GT. 25lbs vs 32lbs. I don’t need a lot of range but I do need hill climbing ability for San Francisco hills. Top speed matters zero to me. But hills matter a lot. I won’t be going more than 22mph but will be hitting hills regularly. Do you think the S’s 55A esc will be sufficient vs the GT’s 70A for hill climbing ability? Not sure if it’s comparable but I have an ebike that weighs at least 2X as much and uses just a tiny 30A esc. I get the benefit of pedaling and gears though. For hills on a skateboard, it either makes it or it doesn’t. Hill climbing is #1 priority for me. GT is just tempting because I can grow into it more but also much better value. Difference in pricing now is only $100. Would love your thoughts.

@@highestvirtue1892 again, “better” Is very subjective. double king pin trucks get a lot of hate because they are a less stable at high-speeds. But that doesn’t mean that they are not capable of high-speeds. iv done 40mph on the hurricane. just requires some practice… tkp on the zeus is simply easier at higher speeds. the video with the titan x shows all 3 go head to head and the hurricane beats it in a 15mph pull. so its up to u, which u value more

I just wanted to let everyone know who is interested in this board my experience with Ownboard and the Zeus Pro. My Zeus pro already broke because for some reason if you pull the brakes shortly after turning on the board, it makes it go full speed on it’s own. It ended up crashing into a wall after I turned it on and they basically said it’s my fault for not knowing that their board has that problem. Ownboard customer service is terrible and they will find a way to blame you for any problem the board has so that they don’t have to live up to their warranty.

Hey there we are terribly sorry that you are having issues with your board. Please refrain from holding the throttle dial in any direction when re-connecting the remote as the remote resets the throttle position sensor when it reconnects. If you hold on to the remote when turning on or reconnecting your remote it will reset the throttle position sensor in the position you are currently holding it in (i.e throttle dial rolled back/brake position) as the new neutral position. What happens is once you let go of the throttle it moves forward to it true neutral position thereby causing the throttle sensor to think that there is a forward input for acceleration.

@@time.4174 Those are my exact thoughts. They said it my fault for not knowing that their board does something that no other board does. They sent me a video of their board having the same problem but they claimed it as normal and something that I should know not to do. Basically, ownboard thinks it’s normal for a board to go full speed on it’s own if you touch the brakes while the board is turning on or exactly right after the board turns on.
