Exactly. Money circulates. A single $20 bill must have changed hands a dozen times in a week. He was just the last person to hold it. Why does it automatically have to be his fault that it was counterfeit? It's so fucked up. 😠😠

What's your point? George wouldn't have died if a different set of police officers were sent, as a matter of fact, it probably would have been resolved peacefully. It's just that those ass holes were sent and they ended up killing a man. This is 100% the fault of police officers that were sent. You can't blame the store owners just because they called the police officers and followed their standard protocols, the officers that didn't follow protocol and killed George are to blame for this, end of the story.

Cup Foods should have gotten it right! You check bills BEFORE you accept them! George did not know that bill was fake! Working for Circle K....when a counterfeit bill was discovered and sale denied I have ALWAYS recommended the owner of the bill try and recall the last place they made a cash transaction! This could narrow down where it came from and how it got into your possession. Besides as citizens do we really inspect our bills when returned to us? Nope...we check to see if the denomination is correct....not the validity of the bill! George didnt know....and for that you call cops and direct him to that man....all cuz you were lazy ...didnt follow protocol....took a fake bill....it comes out of your check or you're fired...thats life NOT DEATH! When you all call the cops YOU know what can and often does happen....LIFE LOST! The Floyd Family should sue CUP FOODS...They contributed to his death....doesnt matter! $20 bucks can break Cup Foods? They dont have insurance...Im sure there is...but these Pakistanis that own this joint want every penny while they buying bulk tp at Sams Club and breaking it down to sell for $5 per roll cuz of Covid19! They said he want acting right and was on his car because he seemed very drunk. This is what’s worse...terrible communication. If somebody sounds concerned and not angry, that should be communicated. Communications is something very underrated, but it should be required for EVERYBODY to take. Psychology would be helpful as well as anything having to do with mental health and disabilities, because you would be amazed by how many people break laws even during their jobs against people with disabilities, both seen and unseen. We understand that it may have been passed off to anyone from a gas station or as change from a store but once a teller or clerk knows its fake it cannot be given back to go back into circulation or we will have a shit ton of fake money flowing through our country.

One of the problems with America is people call the police like they are ordering takeaway or booking a dentist appointment. As he said most people who use a counterfeit dollar bill are unaware it's fake, money is exchanged so regularly that how you're expected to remember where you got it from is beyond me. In the UK there is no protocol to call the police for such a petty and senseless reason.

It is a possibility that George Floyd was given this counterfeit bill from someone else without ever knowing it was counterfeit. He could have passed it off to the store completely unknowing it wasn't legal tender. The police should have not assumed the worst of George Floyd and instead asked him if he remembered where he got the bill. Unfortunately, most of us don't know where we get certain bills and we certainly don't think we could be carrying a counterfeit bill. Maybe we should all carry around those counterfeit marking pens and check every piece of currency we are given.

I was a delivery driver for jimmy John's at one point, and I have come into contact with 2 Bill's on separate occasions that were fake. Both were tipped to me one was obvious. The other was absolutely real looking. Literally from the graphics, to the size, to the weight. Even the way it sounded when counting. I took it to the atm machine to deposit my tips on a friday like how I always did. The machine didnt accept it. I've had that problem sometimes because the bill has a small fold or something, so I tried again. 2 more times after that I decided to go into the bank to let them know something was wrong with the atm machine. Then suddenly the possibility of the bill being fake hit me. I honestly had no clue and I'm so glad I didnt go in the bank. To think of losing my life over money that I had earned honestly all because it was fake without my knowledge is just disheartening. No one deserves to die over $1,000, let alone $20. Rest in peace Mr. Floyd. They did him so wrong.

Here's a report detailing all the criminal activity that took place in that store. An official tried multiple times to have business license revoked but other officials stepped in to give him another chance. Years later, his license was eventually suspended for 3 of the 6 months penalized. Crack cocaine was found on store shelves, undercover agents had purchased drugs inside the premises while owner nonchalantly looked on, stolen guns, distributing paraphernalia such as scales & mini plastic baggies, drugs were recovered during a raid of the premises & other violations are documented in this hearing report. mn.gov/law-library-stat/archive/ctappub/0109/c201399.htm The bar where both Chauvin & Floyd worked as security guards also had compliance issues regarding the operating of the business. The alcohol licensing board cited numerous violations regarding serving of minors, cutoff serving time violations, bookkeeping records weren't in compliance with the conditions placed to serve alcohol, etc. Again, the official from alcohol license board recommendations to suspend/revoke alcohol license was ignored by other govt officials. Prominent community members, other local govt officials, including testimony offered by Chauvin urging to allow business to keep license to sell outweighed the one official seeking to revoke it. The details, including Chauvin's input for the hearing can be read at this link mn.gov/oah/assets/6010120557_Midwest_Latino_report_tcm19-163362.pdf… Does anyone else wonder what club/business owner would hire a convicted felon, including armed robbery to work as a security guard? I'm not disparaging Mr. Floyd. I'm asking everyone to think about the situation. The news only tells the public what they've decided they want us to know. It has always been this way. While we'll never learn the true reason why Chauvin snuffed the life from Mr. Floyd in this most cruel, demonic fashion, it's obvious that there's more to this. Chauvin HAD to know who Floyd was. They worked overlapping shifts at the same club. Chauvin, a moonlighting cop working security at the same club for 17 yrs would've gone out of his way to know every guard employeed, regardless if they worked his shift or not. Mr. Floyd expressed significant anxiety about getting in the responding officers car. Floyd is finally inside the patrol car when Chauvin arrives on the scene and immediately rips Mr. Floyd from the car? Why? Mr. Floyd was cuffed and completely inside the backseat of the vehicle. WHY did Chauvin yank him out of that officers car? Chauvin was not going to let Mr. Floyd make it to the police station or anywhere else alive, even if it meant he had to take his life on a city street during broad daylight with onlookers, street cameras, phone cameras & co-workers looking on. The EMT's broke every single emergency response protocol I know of. That didnt look anything like an emergency medical response. No! It looked like a witness removal team arriving to "clean" the scene. Btw, didnt the woman beater, antifa advocate AG Keith Ellison change arrest protocols due to covid? People could steal, destroy property & commit assault & not worry about getting arrested unless you were a mom caught at an unoccupied playground with your child. Isn't his son the President of City Council? I get the counterfeit bill being federal, but think about it!! It wasnt as if George walked out of the store with a new cell phone or other expensive goodies sold by this corner store! He bought a single pack of smokes, that's it....not even a damn lighter! Why were the cops called? Or more so, WHY did Chauvin show up and unnecessarily intervene? Anyone think this is still about race? If just one person could indicate their ability to see this post, I'd appreciate it. I'm not asking for it to be "liked". The guy that owns the store specifically said that previously if there was a counterfeit bill issue, the person usually doesn’t realize it, the cops usually ask where they got it from without incident. It just wasn’t his fault or his employs fault but either way, he’s offered to help the family which was very nice of him.

That happened.to me. I went to a night club, uknown to me, I was given a fake bill back after paying to enter. I went to buy a drink using the money I was given, not really thinking or knowing that the money was fake. The bartender called security, causing a really big scene. I revealed to security that the money I had came from there own stash after I paid to enter. No one said a word after that.

@commenterperson4481

@Mitch White Calling the police after receiving a fake $20 isn't racist. The workers could be _racist,_ they could be _rude,_ they could _anything_ -- but that's a different topic. Intentionally killing a man (while masquerading as a law enforcement officer) is just murder, blatant display of negligence/arrogance, but might also be primarily motivated by racism.

The action by the store was wholly unnecessary. The sane process is to politely decline the note with something like 'sorry sir, you may not be aware, but this is a counterfeit. Can you offer alternative payment? It's called giving someone the benefit of the doubt. A reasonable person does not call the police in such a run of the mill situation. They racially profiled him. And the owner is a poor leader throwing his employee under the bus. He hired him or her, he trained him or her. The buck rests with him.
