Owning 0.21 Bitcoin is a Big Deal

Been learning about bitcoin for 10 years and talked to thousands of bitcoiners over the years, here’s something that is helpful to wrap your head around in the early days of stacking.

I’m up to .19 which I feel good about for now. That’s currently about 20% of my total investment portfolio which I think is reasonable. Most seasoned investors won’t do more than 5% right now as there are still plenty of risks. However, I’m comfortable at 20% given all the recent developments such as the ETF’s being approved and the halving event coming up.

Really like your videos. I have been into investing in Crypto for about 3 years now, and I am finally beginning to understand its importance, use and value. I just wish 3 years ago I would have fully understood the value of Bitcoin and what it means. I don't have much in total crypto assets (around $30,000.00) but it's taken me almost 3 years to do so. I dumped small amounts into crappy coins and projects, and now regret the get rich quick hopes I had when I started. If only I would have taken those few thousands of dollars and put it in Bitcoin when it was 9,000-12000 per coin.... Watching your videos through the past year has made me grow and learn so much as an investor and I really appreciate it. Thank you. My question to you is what the effect will be on price and scarcity when the whole worlds populations (not just the major countries but all governments and populations) get on board? 8.1 billion people are currently on earth, fighting for only around 15-16 million bitcoins. For a person only owning 5 cents of a bitcoin, I am humbled that most the people at my work own none and aren’t gonna have any till 100k per coin for some. That’s 1000 sats per dollar. Way I’ve stayed stacking was the 96% loss in purchasing power of dollar. So its basically common sense, if your not hedging against inflation your losing.

So continue to DCA and sell on occasion if you need dollars (I guess…). My biggest fear is the storage. Stick with COINBASE Wallet? Is that good enough? The “cold wallet” idea scares me because hardware can get scratched, etc. Why trust your digital asset to a piece of hardware? That makes no sense to me. I think I've got like .27 right now. It took me about 3 years to get that much. I mainly just do $25/week recurring buys no matter the price and do larger buys on dips. I haven't sold any and don't plan on it for at least the next few years.

@javie793 That's pretty much how I treat it. I have most of it on a Ledger which isn't that easy to move and I have other wallets and exchange accounts with a limited amount for quick access to sell if needed. I have a good paying job and minimal expenses so I don't see myself ever needing to sell my BTC until I want to. I have stock that I'd sell before touching my BTC.

That is 345K BRL (Brasil currency) My car, which I struggled most my life to buy, since cars are a rare luxury and extremely overpriced in Brasil, is a 2019 model Hyundai HB20, worth 10k USD. I'm selling it tomorrow to increase my BTC assets, since all I could buy till this date amounts to 900 USD in BTC. Só, that's the reality of a South American living in a communist, corrupt, crime infested, number 2 in the world when it comes to taxation country. Now you guys see better how BIG is 0,21 BTC...😢

Actually, it’s not about the amount of BTC you have, but what part of your allocation it is. If your whole net worth is in BTC, it’s not a very smart decision. It doesn’t matter how much btc you have in absolute terms, and stop bragging about it. Dont get caught up in too much fomo

@@Deezisnotsfree You’re best off by reading some books, depending on what type of investments you want to make. For me it was the Bogleheads Guide to Investing and then How to Own the World by Andrew Craig. Learn about finance, the economy and political affairs both at home and abroad, I’m particularly interested in geopolitics. Other than that the best way to learn is by reading more books, I’m a long term investor but do dabble with shorter trades, it’s risky but it can work. Remember, if you try to beat the market, the market will beat you. I keep my strategy simple, Developed World index and an Emerging Markets Index. I Pound/Dollar cost average and will buy larger sums when the markets are low. Other than that just take your time, never get FOMO and when you realise that you could be getting too excited and ready to buy an item that is getting higher…stop, take a day or two and go back to it. Enjoy.

My biggest piece of advice are: Pay off any debt you have (excluding your house) first, any debt you owe is costing you more than you’re likely to make in interest from investments. Don’t try and keep up with the everyone else, the majority of stunting their financial future it getting car loans/finance. Never trust anyone on the internet, listen to what they say and make judgment with you own best knowledge, if it feels bad, it probably is. Learn. Don’t get involved with the ‘hype’. Spend some time researching and start putting your money to work for the long term, if you try and beat the market, the market will beat you. Have some cash to hand in a Savers account that you can withdraw in emergencies. Make your money work for you.
