Nothing wrong with a custom flat/mate paint job. It really pumps up the eye candy effect of the car even higher. Pick a nice color, even a close color to it's current black paint, like a stealthy flat black or gray tone. If you look into repainting the car, please upload this update.

I have a 2018 GTR and have owned it for nearly 3 years, really love it, great in every way apart from the battery. Had the same problems as you, replaced the battery (with high quality one) but if I don't drive it for more than two weeks in the winter it's flat. Have no way of trickle charging so bought a solar powered charger from the AA (£25) that connects to the ODP port, problem solved. Recommend you get one.
@CB-rr9fe3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mate. I need to get a new battery for my 2019 because of the same problem. Which battery did you go for?
@peterbowsher12573 жыл бұрын
@@CB-rr9fe Got an Optima Yellow Top sourced through AutoTorque. Much better than the old one but will still go flat if not used for more than two weeks. Will recharge very quickly though. The ODB port I mentioned above will not allow charging so wired through the fuse box. Also going to fit a Zero gravity battery tracker so I will know the health of the battery at anytime. Bluetooth connected to app on your phone.
@CB-rr9fe3 жыл бұрын
@@peterbowsher1257 Thanks for the reply. I looked at the Yellow tops but they were quite a bit smaller than the standard ones, I think in post MY17 Nissan fitted 52ah batteries and the yellow tops are only 38ah? (Or about that) I have a tracker, ghost and dual dash cam with parking mode so I didn't want to go smaller than 52ah however trying to find a replacement that bit is really hard. It's kind of embarrassing having an expensive car and having to charge the battery on the drive so often! 🤣
@peterbowsher12573 жыл бұрын
@@CB-rr9fe I've had the Optima on my 2018 for nearly two years and as long as it's charged it fires up really well. This is the correct battery for the GTR as confirmed by AutoTorque who supplied and fitted it. Going by the forum GTR.co.uk GTR's are renowned for battery "parasitic drain" problems and trickle charging is the only option. That is why I am going to fit the battery tracker so at least I know that the battery is getting low before it is too low to start. The only other option is to buy a very expensive lithium ion battery which I know work very well on other supercars from others that have them.
@CB-rr9fe3 жыл бұрын

The battery thing is weird. I had a 2008 and now a 2017 and my battery lasted years. I drive it every weekend but sometimes I am overseas for a month and it still starts up well. If you wanna modify, just add a midpipe and you'll he happy. My 2008 was FBO and although it was fun it kinda ruined the drivability because turners won't spent hundreds of hours to fine tune it down low. Slap a midpipe on it for more sound and it's perfect.

I owned a 2015 Switzer USE GTR for 2 years. I cannot relate for any of the niggles that Paul referenced. I had a drone but after trying 3 different Y-pipes, we finally found that one that worked. My trans was built (Dodson) so it was clunky. I never had an issue with that blind spot. I disagree on the seats. To me, M2 Comp seats are better (I owned both M2 Comp and my 2015 GTR for a few months). Stock suspension on the GTR was okay, but the Ölins coilovers that I put on it were waaaayyy better.

cranking the car takes the most battery usage, just starting it up will not recharge it. you need to drive it for 20 mins+ every 4 days instead. nice car!

I absolutely agree with the battery, and im glad you pointed it out as i havent seen anyone else complain about it. I pulled into a costa after being on the motorway for over 2 hours and sat with the music on for half an hour and the thing was dead! Switched to Optoma Yellow Top in the end, but the general size is just too small for such an engine. I wouldnt swap the GTR for anything, but the starting never sounds healthy in the cold because this silly battery.

I recommended buying a Antigravity battery. Solved my problems, worth the 800$ price tag. Has built in jump start features, double the cold cranking amps, Lithium ion battery, Weighs 8.5 lbs, and electronically disconnects itself to prevent battery drain.

Superb review for me, former Irish resident and appreciative of the roads and weather you drove through. Thinking of this car (or a close relative) in Vancouver BC, this is by far the most helpful review I've come across. Cheers!

Its true when your talking about the nissan R&D effort to make the GTR a reliable supercar, whether it's modified or not that all depends on the owner itself...

What a wonderful review!!! The prices in the USA are getting way out of hand so unfortunately I won't be able to ever afford one of these with the post pandemic and pre-ev craze causing the prices of all sports cars to sky rocket. Yeah I could trad my 2019 Charger Scat Pack with 12,000 miles on her for damn good money but also I know that once they stop making them and the HEMI engine that the value of my car will be going through the roof so I want to hold on to this piece of automotive history.

I think the GTR compared to other supercars, is a very good car, and very nice looking, and relatively cheap. and I noticed that its a four seater right? Man i would like to own a GTR
