Little ?? Little cars???? They take up over half the bloody motorway! I was driving home one night doing the speed limit on the motorway and I taught it was an Arctic truck coming behind the thing was big and luggy and had so many different lights on It.

Sport versions have a Torsen LSD, it is the way to go, they are quite frequent too. Locks when you wanna skid and does not hop around when you turn. Don't weld the diff.

Hi mate I'd just like to congratulate you on the channel. I am in the market for a new cheap performance motor and I stumbled across your review on the fiesta st. I had one a good few years ago and really loved it. I really like the civics and was wondering what you would recommend as a daily driver I don't mind age but would like some sort of reliability. I watched your video on the 2k price range but I currently have about 4k to spend I was wondering if you had a video lined up to help people in that price bracket. Cheers Matt

I love these cars and most older cars in general. Older cars have so much individual character, they're not recycled boring garbage and most of them have a shitty toxic diesel engine in them. For the same sort of money you can get a BMW 318i or a mazda MX-5 1.8, both are basically 2L engines and they're a little lighter that the IS200 but just like that IS200, they're rear wheel drive too so great for skids if you're still a big kid for stuff like that =P Good video except for the t shirt rambling. Take care

do you think the is200 would be good for sliding about if the diff wasnt welded?
@creed81965 жыл бұрын
I’ve got a IS200 as my daily, factory lsd, 6 speed, sunroof, all the features. Anyway these things are so slow. They handle a corner well but you need to keep it in the last couple thousand rpm to get it to move. A ford laser is faster off the line unless you drop the clutch at 5k

i had one of these and one thing i had concerns about is when the engine was turned off their was only enough reserved vaccum pressure in the brake pedal for 2 pumps on the brake pedal and no more and the manual stated this. if the engine failed that could be dangerous if you pumped the brake pedal twice there would be no more reserved vaccum in the pedal.
@lazrussanschei53725 жыл бұрын
Wat. Yeah the brake pump obviously doesn't work anymore if the engine shuts off...that's happening in every fucken car but you'd still be able to brake! You'd just have to press the brake harder/without assistance from the engine. I don't see your point as this is the same thing in every car.

What's your average MPG on this? I'm getting my IS200 tomorrow going all the way from Strathaven to Falkirk to collect it, I've gotthe insurance paid off (monthly installments but I'm able to afford the price of 169 per month) I'm 20 years old, moved to the uk in 2016 when I was 17 alone lmao have a Golf 4 1.4l rn as my second car, had a 1.6l golf as a first till the clutch and suspension went (not my fault i swear!) ALSO!!!! It's LPG converted meaning it'll cost me 54 pence per Litre to fill up although it'll get 20% less mpg it'll still save me money instead of petrol, so if anyone can tell me their average that would be great as I'm reading 20mpg and 35mpg (which is a big difference when you're filling up all the time haha )
@Jack-dg1iv2 жыл бұрын
I can’t tell if mines an lsd. It’s an se but was told last owner put an lsd in it, both wheels lock up on burnouts and stuff but sometimes it acts like an open diff. It’s not welded that I know.

Great video. I'm sure this is a lot of car for the money you pay but for very young drivers, would you say a Fiat Panda 1.4 100hp would be cheaper considering its insurance costs and the fun you would potentially get? I heard they ride like shit because of their stiff suspension and they're tiny so i'm not sure if they would be safe in a crash compared to the IS200 lol Keep up the good work
@LoveAudiA419988 жыл бұрын
Or get a corsa something small for first car haha

for younger people wanting a cheap to insure daily drifter imo an e36 touring 316/8 converted to a m50/m52 and if you "forget" to declare the engine that's the cheapest way to run a rwd in the uk, these are bargains though
@AdamH10298 жыл бұрын
Which is also illegal. Don't be that bellend who doesn't declare engine swaps.

I don't mind the car tbh, my dad just got a volvo s60 2.0 with 180bhp heated full leather interior AC every thing works and does 135mph and cost £350!
@UniversityOfTurmoil8 жыл бұрын
+Reece Park I had an S60 a few years back. Definite bargain, lots of people want Volvo estates but not the saloons. Unlike the video suggested I think the insurance on a Lexus might not be too bad for a young person as it is not the sort of car that other youngster buy so would be a better risk than a hot hatch or even a 1.0 supermini. I had a Saab Turbo when I was 21 and that was loads cheaper to insure that a similar powered hot hatch.
@AdamH10298 жыл бұрын
+UniversityOfTurmoil You may be right there. It's about the same for me to insure this as it is for me to insure a 1.8 Astra or 1.4 Corsa SRi

How is to drive a welded diff cross country? I mean corners, not motorways. Does it oversteer in long highspeed corners? What about driving in the rain?

I'm looking into the IS200 and I was just wondering if it's worth keeping the stock 2L Inline-6 and build that or swap it for a 3S-GTE. Is it a good idea (knowing the 3S-GTE can make 700ps when built) to do so since some Japanese Altezzas came with 3S-GEs or no? (Also, a quote came to around £1500 for me. I'm 19 with 1 year NCB and I've been driving since 2017.)
@bobfranks64455 жыл бұрын
If you want more power than 153bhp (actually about 162) then find an is300, they are 2JZ and make about 220bhp.
@callumroper72515 жыл бұрын
Bob Zed I brought up the 3S-GTE as I wanted to keep the weight of the car down as the 2JZ is heavier and that may hurt the handling. I've also heard (and even seen articles and videos) about the 3S-GTE being good for around 600ps+ after being built up.
@bobfranks64455 жыл бұрын
@@callumroper7251 You'd have to turbo it. Plus the insane cost for mega bhp. Would be cheaper to buy an M5.
@callumroper72515 жыл бұрын
Bob Zed The 3S-G*T*E did come with a turbo, you were thinking of the NA 3S-GE variant. Regardless, I'd still stick with the IS200 with 3S-GTE swap due to the weight being far lighter than the the M5 despite the power gap. Besides, I wouldn't be able to insure an M5 and even then, I don't desire one.
@bobfranks64455 жыл бұрын
@@callumroper7251 The Altezza RS is a🤗3SGE non turbo...hence you'd have to add turbo. Unless you mean put a 3SGE in an is200....which would be pricey and cheaper to supercharge the 2.0 il6
