This is my second winter driving my FR-S. There is nothing wrong with the car itself but I've been getting a tonne of rock chips as a result of the stuff that they use on the roads.

I just got mine paint corrected and ceramic coated. unfortunately a lot of the rock chips are too deep. If you don't have deep rock chips yet, I highly recommend 3M-ing your front end. Good videos, keep it up!

I owned a 2004 Mustang in the winter, and a 2009 Elantra right after. The Mustang was a joy to drive, if you were to ever understeer you just blipped the throttle and you fixed it. Took about a day to get used to being easy on the throttle. For the Elantra you need to drive it like a goddamn rally driver, it understeers so bad it's scary. I never thought I'd have to worry about understeer in the middle of the city, driving at around 20km/h in a curve. So for me, next car is gonna be RWD for sure

Hi, what’s your opinion of snow tires on back wheels only? I bought this FRS from a friend and he had just two snow tires and he told me to put them on back. I’ve always driven stick but recently it’s been snowy and even with traction on and being careful, I’ve been slipping a bit. Should I put snow tires on all four tires? What are your thoughts? Thanks :)

Dope vid. I work for Toyota in the Midwest, ordering a new 17 Toyota 86, gonna buy my winter tires in the summer for a discount and definitely not worried. Can't wait to see everyone in the parking lot like whattttt haha. Gonna add TRD exhaust. Need your opinion, add TRD lowering springs or no? Clearance is one of the main issues, not all streets will be plowed like city streets

I have a friend with the TRD lowering springs. Great ride height without having stock suspension, so you won't get anyone commenting on needs more low.. however I heard the upgrade isn't worth paying the price, at that point you can get new coils which are adjustable.

Thanks for quick reply. I have no intentions to purchase the vehicle, as it will be a company lease, but I can add TRD upgrades. Main thing I'm worried about is clearance with the TRD springs in the snow

Mango 86 Just ordered my 86! I got steel with TRD exhaust, springs, sway bars, and trd wheels, comes in August. Can't wait, just need to find some good winter wheels and tires. Maybe can find a sale in the summer on tire rack or something. Thank you again for making this video man

In montreal Quebec last 2 winters were brutal and had crazy storms. I got stuck because of thick snow or not even thick or high just couldn't get moving because car is too low not enough traction on real wheels even with some weight in the back. I had winter tires and still got stuck several times :(. Scion frs 2016

hui li my question too, I’ll have my frs next Friday but come winter in Calgary I’m a little worried. Our winters are very different we don’t get salted roads we barely even get plowed roads. Looking at a foot of snow I’ve seen awd trucks get stuck easy.

hui li i am ya haha I actually went ahead with my frs and after driving it I have no worries. It will definitely handle winter in Calgary as long as you have winter tires. I’ve got studded winters ready for when it comes.

Classic Bass dang good for you, I was too scared to take the risk so I went for a new Honda Civic hatch sport instead....don't laugh but its got a little higher suspension and clearly level.
