This Tesla owner can really speak and explain in detail which makes this video so much more fun compared to others. Good questions too

Man, that really looks fun to drive! I hope one day Malaysia will have a very affordable EV under the 60K ringgit range. But we really do need to solve the infra first, and I wholeheartly agreed that once we solve the infra for charging, we can bring in more affordable EVs. Heck, even Americans are struggling to charge their EVs, because they have too many EVs and not enough charge point. I also hope that Condo managements, would allow their resident to have their own Socket or build a charge point at their own carpark.

Totally agree with the need for charging infras all over M'sia, the range anxiety is real. Pretty sure a lot of M'sians would buy an EV in a heartbeat if we were to have more charging stations. With EVs like Fiat 500e, Honda e & the Citreon Ami, it's really tempting to get one right now.

“ICE car owners can top up in 5 minutes going to a gas station, but EV owners charge when they sleep”. Nice quote

One thing I worried about to buy EV is actually people will have to wait for another car to finished charging, which is a hassle because it takes them 2 hours to finish. And plus it is first come first serve, although we have all the apps like chargEV and Plugshare but still. There will be new problem arise from this

Would be good if you could share the maintenance cost of Tesla, and how does it compare to ice cars.

Government should pay for charging stations capex ( 2 per station ?) at all petrol stations. The petrol stations then can charge a slight markup on the electricity price on kWh basis to the consumer. The petrol stations have to be on board to make EVs a reality in Malaysia.

The Latest Budget and New Incentive for Investment ( BEV Global Leaders initiative ) which attracted TESLA is important. Import permits is NO longer the issue. After TESLA hopefully NIO, XPENG, LiAuto, etc will enter the Malaysia Market. And subsequently use Malaysia as a STEPPING stone for the ASEAN market. I foresee that by end 2023 .... EV under RM 100K will enter Malaysia. When 2024 arrives Thailand with 3 FACTORIES of EV will come online. Thus making EV more competitive. However Govn should remove BLANKET subsidy for Fossil Fuel. Use TARGET subsidy .Company Cars will have incentive for switching to EV. Throw in an incentive for TAX deductibles for EV purchases. Commercial Vehicles will switch to EV as it has become financially cheaper and less issues with maintenance. Tipping Point will happen as soon as 2024 in Malaysia (Just my 2 cents) .
