Seeing your uploads basically every second day brings a smile to my face. I've tried to get into watching your live streams, but for me, there is just too little action in there, so watching the videos you post is the bomb.

I know nothing about electronic repairs and most of the time has very little understanding of the fixes that were made on this channel. What I love most about this channel is your sincerity and most importantly the integrity and efforts that you put in to ensure that the fixes that you made are at your 110% best. Best wishes to you and your family and this great community that you have built.

I agree. Something along those lines! It won't be worth fixing now for sure, time spent on it would be a complete waste. Will look to sell as faulty with a full run down of what's been done as always. Thanks for watching Govi! :)

0:06 so... uh, like a cat, where the cat says "Don't be the part of the problem BE the ENTIRE problem?" I can get behind that. :) Jokes aside, kudos man, on owning up. Shows character and integrity. We need that more than ever. Some of us are older, but i'm sure that in the audience there's also teens who will take note of it and hopefully learn that mistakes are about what you do with them, not hiding them or being ashamed of them or anything else. Again, kudos and chapeau from across the channel!

After all that testing and it seemed good anybody would try selling it again. Now... selling it for a third time would be the big no-no. That's where your moral compass comes in Joey!... You done the right thing.

Hi Joey! During your explanation of your testing you said that you unplugged the device and then plugged it back in to use it again. Did you ever leave it plugged in for a longer duration? My guess is that there might be an issue when the device is either idling or in a standby state. The original return stated that customer came back to it in a non-functional state after leaving it sit for a period of time, which makes me believe it was left with access to power during this time. Although your tests seem to be for normalized use, it's not normal to unplug these devices after your done using them, at least for where I'm from. Love the videos, keep it up!

You should replace that chip with a preheater and minimum heat from hot air. Adding kapton tape on the die itself can prevent thermal shock.

Well, after seeing this, if I were to have the money to buy something you repaired and turns out to be faulty, I'd be rather hesitant to give you a negative feedback on eBay: considering how much you document your repairs and that you own up to any mistake, I'd call it an amicable resolution :D

This is a really difficult case because you tested it over a reasonable period of time, really weird that it is not working again... You could count this one as a loss but that would not tell us what is going wrong with it and we want to know!

obviously idk too much about repairs. But maybe it went too cold ? If I remember correctly. First customer got it, tested it on arrival, worked, then went to buy the controller, so few days gap (I assumed after watching your videos). Not working. Then you got it again repaired it, tested it for a week, but still used every day, no problem. You sold it again. New customer got it, probably used it at the start, no problem, then probably had a time gap of not using it and guess what...stopped working. It looks like something works fine when "warm" but the moment it goes "cold" just fries the component. Its just weirdd that it breaks after a longer period of not using it.

A dying IC. I got one repair exactly same SSD controller And dying after a week of the repair then I reflow And same to the next day after repair then I did a reballing And exactly the same dying after a week. I replace for other IC And I have been testing maybe 3 weeks since then it working good. That is My thought about it.

Bit of a random one but I noticed you said you unplugged it over night when testing just thinking is it a problem that's happening when the console is left plugged in as most people leave them plugged in constantly maybe that's why it was fine when you tested it but when the customer left it plugged in it then stopped working not sure what could cause that tho sorry for the long comment

When you get it back, sell it as faulty and list the known faults with the console! I wouldn't even trust it as a donor board, unless you need another donor board - because what could be causing the SSD Controllers to go bad?!

JDT hivemind, I have a question : I want to get an extra power supply for my mini pc to make it simpler for moving it between rooms. My original one has these specs: INPUT:100-240V~50/60Hz 2.0A OUTPUT: 19.0V - 3.0A 57.0W I can't find anything with these exact specs, so could anyone advise me as to what sort of range of output I can safely use. Often they go to 60w, 19v and slightly over 3A. Would this explode my computer? I'd appreciate anyone's knowledgeable advice Thanks

anyone else think joey is being scammed here ? like how hard is it to SAY that its not working right after its been repaired and joey being the kind soul he is says "send it back i will repair for free" for the buyer to send a completly different unit and get a free repair on 1 of the 2 machines... that or the buyer is the one at fault, u had it for a week with NO ISSUES but TWO WEEKS LATER the buyer has issues ? ? something smells fishy and i dont think its the flux.

Very unlikely as Joey is presumably keeping track of serial numbers. I've worked on some things (thankfully my own) that have developed so many different unrelated problems-some units are just bad. Stuff happens.
