Owning The 2007 Yamaha R6! *ONE YEAR UPDATE*

I've now owned my 2007 Yamaha YZF R6 for 1 YEAR!! I absolutely love this bike and have put 3,000 miles of pure fun on it! After one year I have now seen the cost of ownership during this time, and it's ridiculously cheap to run a bike. This bikes give me the same amount of fun as my GT-R and truly is the best alternative to buying a supercar!
Enjoy my 1 year update/cost of owning the R6 video!

More upright than a cbr 600?. Not true at all. R6 has one of the most aggressive positions. Cbr has one of the MOST comfortable riding position .

@@Ramasenirama How short are you? I'm on my tip toes on my R6 but I don't really mind since I'm used to that from road cycling. I think That said shorter often means lighter and I'm definitely too light for my stock suspension. Will need to get it re-sprung once I finish doing the wheel bearings. (I'm 5'6" and with the bike slightly leaned over at a stop I can flat foot on the left side. I think I could be a couple inches shorter and still feel comfortable.)

No offense bro, but your shifting is obviously lacking any skill or experience. You're pulling the clutch earlier than you're letting your throttle go. It shouldn't do the whip up on the RPM when you're pulling the clutch to shift a gear. A lot of people also pointed out, you NEED to be in the powerbands with these bikes to feel the power. They were designed to be ridden around the 8K-15k range bro. Also, these bikes are notorious for very aggressive seat position. CBR is the least aggressive for most people out of the 4 Japanese 600cc makes. I realize this was two years ago but it got suggested to me just now and I figured I'll still spread some love and drop a comment! Overall, very sexy bike! Ride safely

Those struggling to get insured on these bikes, get something older, and maybe try and get a year of riding under your belt on a small bike (250 or 300) first. Full coverage for a newer 2015 R6 for me is over $300. Full coverage on a 07 is $80. Big difference. About to buy my first R6 here in the next couple weeks. Super excited to move up from my CBR300R to a 600. I put 15k miles on that little 300 in a year and a half.

$900 liability or full coverage? Full liability for my R6 (so much more than the legal minimum) as a 21 yr old in Texas is ~$550 and price will fluctuate depending on city. Full coverage though was like $1700+ and it didn't make sense imo to pay an extra $1000/yr for a bike that won't get ridden as a daily and is over a decade old.

@@cinnibeard4448 Wrong. I've personally seen a bike with 175,000 miles before. They last as long as cars as long as you take care of them, which most people don't do. CinniBeard keep selling bikes at 20,000 there’s tons of people who would love pick up a pretty much brand new bike with low miles and actually put a lot of miles on it, maybe if you never change the oil 20,000 may be a lot and that’s a maybe. If you take care of your bike no reason you can’t hit at minimum 60k but more realistically 100k these 600cc are meant to be ridden hard way harder than most people will ride the bike

It's a bike, definitely no alternative to a super car or even sports car. Personally you'd never catch me on a bike, far to dangerous and I personally know at least 5 people that have died on them, but not one person that's died in a sports car.

Wtf you mean it’s no alternate to a sports car lol? I took my stock zx12 to the strip and ran low 10s 1/4 mile. I was the 2nd fastest thing there right behind a hayabusa.

Really if you compare car deaths to bike deaths. Cars aren’t that much safer, just seems that way. Go check.

Well once you hit over 10k you are closing in on triple digits...I didn't buy a bike to be reckless with it. I ride the way I want to be safe and do have fun with it! Taken it to the track and do that in controlled environments. Just because I don't hit 10k often doesn't mean it's not fun to ride or a bike that I wanted... kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3nYmGZ9hZ6rrKM

@@spar8334 It’ll get up and move under 10k for sure. And the CBR is nice, that’s my brothers bike, I didn’t have a clip of mine, but it’s very similar.

Yes it does sound like an f1 car because it revs so high, have you ever seen when they have 2 motor engines in a hill climb car? Mega crazy revving pocket v8.
