I was fortunate to drive down to Leslie Gulch and then kayak up & down river over a couple days in May of 2023. What I saw then is wonderfully multiplied by this video. Perhaps the most beautiful place in Oregon!

My favorite river to raft. I like it even more than the Wild and Scenic section of the Rogue River.

Sweet Video! TY for the Covid Times Adventure, needed that. Rowed this in the late 90's and want to return soon! Unless a friend or 2 are available we may just row 14'er Avon solo since I've rowed the permitted section of the Rogue (35 miles, 5 days0 a couple of times. Running conservative on the Owyhee at 3500-4000 CFS seems to be at class 3 and below, safe to go solo. TY for sharing the awesome video!

Lovely! Thank you for posting. I ran this trip 25 years ago and want to do it again, hopefully with my family. The trip I was on was hosted by the Geology Department at WOSC. President Rice was also on the trip. Nice group of people, I saw my first live coyote and the night we camped in the canyon the stars were so bright I didn’t need a flashlight for the potty run. I wanted to shout and wake everybody up so they could see the starlight also. Wish I had, I will on my next trip. 😊

Great video man. I ran it last year at 1200 but this level is cookin. Those waves get big at high water.

This video here, is my favorite I've ever seen in the internet! It's something I'll watch over and over, esp in meditation. Lovely footage

Spectacular scenery! I love this terrain and this is pure solitude. We explore the Idaho side of the Owyhee Mountains, but I would love to raft this river, the Bruneau-Jarbridge, Hell's Canyon, the River Of No Return, Lochsa, Selway and Payette. I've only rafted the Swirley Canyon section of the South Fork Payette and Deschutes. Gotta get to planning. Just subscribed.

Janell. This is wonderful. For years I've wanted to row something north of Moab and the Owyhee has been the tops on my list. Your footage confirms it! Gonna' hafta' go now! Could you please share your camera and setup. You seem to have found a camera with great resolution and color. I'm shopping. Thanks and see ya' downstream sometime!

Great inspirational vid to help motivate us to get our asses out there! Question: what is etched/carved on the decking of your frame? River map? Of?

River map of the Grand Canyon, recently I burned all the great rivers I have done around the edges.

It's great to see other tripping this way. Not a tonne of videos out there with boats oaring solo on longer trips. I think its the coolest way to travel a river. I do I week long float on my 9' cataract with bunch of friends with similar capacity boats. It's. Great time but im looking hard at a bit bigger raft like yours. What size boat are you paddling in this video anyways? It looks to be a 12' or 13'?

when is this river in ? spring run or later summer ? average flows ? i heard ya dont want to be on with less then 1000 cfs? Thanks for the info.
@Raftingwhenicam11 ай бұрын
Spring is about the only time you can catch it running good enough to raft. Dont be surprised by huge crowds at the put in. A late fall trip in a tandem IK might be great.

@@Raftingwhenicam You had pretty good flow at 3800 cfs. Do you think it's doable in 4.5 days? How was the road at Leslie Gulch? I've been there before (long time ago) and it was a little challenging for low vehicles. Did you have much wind?
@Raftingwhenicam3 жыл бұрын
@@kerieray you could do it in 4.5 if you had to, the road is long and dusty gravel with washboards and potholes. 2wd friendly
