Good morning Mark.. Nice video and info. The hardware cloth is a good thing, it lets the air flow & helps keep the bug out. I don't know if the peppermint candy helps with the mites but it helps me with the beetles. Thanks for the great video.

Thanks for watching Irene I appreciate it. Those mites you just have to keep on top of them or they can wipe your bees out. Hope you have a great day my friend.

Just curious how a wild hive battles them naturally?
@strugglingbeekeepermarkcot96422 жыл бұрын
A wild hive will swarm to keep there numbers down. That is how they keep the mites under control. Thanks buddy I appreciate you watching.
@MinnesotaBeekeeper2 жыл бұрын
For the most part they do not. Until some years ago western honey bees didn't have them.

@@russellkoopman3004 no news since Tuesday 6th. 31 infected sites from the east coast to the states north west at Narrabri. Personally I think it’s now highly uncontrollable. The initial outbreak was mismanagement from government body, but then there’s the few beekeepers at the start that transported apiaries hundreds of kilometres after the states zero movement of hives was put in place.

Mark 7 days apart is to far apart. You will miss some capping larva. How much OA are you using per super? No peppermints do nothing. Little tip, you can use a laser thermometer to find your pan temp.
@strugglingbeekeepermarkcot96422 жыл бұрын
I am using one of those green scoops full per suppers I forgot to say that in this video. I have had success with the peppermints in keeping away the hive Beatles so far. Thanks for watching I appreciate it hope you have a great day my friend.

@@strugglingbeekeepermarkcot9642 7 days apart? Wondering who gave you that advice. OK, your mite wash at the end should be interesting.
